I just got started in this hobby and my first purchase is the Diana Chaser Rifle-Pistol kit in 177 version. I was able to remove the Moderator that was held in the rifle barrel with LockTite by placing it in boiling water for about 15 minutes to loosen the glue, then used a vise grip on the barrel end and wearing a grippy glove on the left hand to turn and unscrew the Moderator which was resistant at first but once I turned it 1/4 it came off easily. I wanted to clean the barrels and the Moderator before firing my first shots. I carefully unscrewed the end cap and slowly removed the baffles one a t a time and placed them in order so all I had to do was reverse the process going backwards to re-assemble it. The first thing you will see is a rubber O-ring so be careful not to lose it. Then there are 6 alum spacers and 6 alum cones, and the last piece is a large alum expansion chamber. Just used tissue paper and an old toothbrush to clean the inside and the threads. Applied a small drop of Pellgun Oil in the threads after putting it back together. Pretty straightforward.
This gun is very accurate. I shoot tiny little plastic green Army men at 30 feet and would send these things flying in the air LOL. I keep the Moderator in the pistol barrel. The rifle barrel is quiet enough that it doesn't really need the Moderator. The sound of the rifle with earplugs is the same as the pistol with the Moderator without earplugs.
