Honestly i dont see a bunch of wow on it around. Lol. Maybe the cheaper better product... Cheaper for them to make and better profits for thete shareholders..
Also got to wonder how much is china and just playing off the made in Germany / diana name. ( Spa influence).
Another thing i noticed is it seems Weihrauch fazed out the break barrel with the standard stock. Seems now it's going to be that new style or luxus only ?

Yep. I think the old Model 34 might be the best value break barrel ever. Not fancy, but solid. Well made. Accurate. Plenty of pop. I love my T05 trigger one. I wouldn’t own an EMS.

I think yes. Only benefit of the EMS is that you can swap out the spring for a gas ram, which is the only shot you have of owning a gas piston Diana now that they discontinued the N-TEC line.

Instead of replacing the 34 they should bring back the 45 as a detuned 34 action. The 36 could be brought back with a nicer stock. For field target offer an adjustable stock that can be used with any of the 34 actions.

I had a 34 synthetic that had major barrel droop, plastic sights, and one of the forward stocks screws was stripped. The shot cycle wasn't very pleasant either. I couldn't return fast enough. Went to the HW95 and am much happier. I think the quality hasn't been good for a while now on the 34. At least in my experience.

To be honest this was the best move/ improvement vs the ball and sloppy leade holes you yend to see on the old.

just reading about this gun and it can come with .177 AND .22 barrels and the EMS has theT06 trigger ,but that is the only difference between and the classic 34 . some talk about no barrel droop but didn't catch what the fix was . EDIT : just saw post#9

On the bottom there is also i think 2 set screws that you adjust that .. ill try to find a good picture of that..

The D34 used to be the #1 springer recommended to new hobbyists, now I barely see them mentioned at all. Especially since the EMS was introduced. Maybe that's because the US market has found that you can get Weihrauch springers for similar prices from Krale?

I'd wager that's exactly what happened.
Diana took a chance on a tried & true design, fumbled, and Weihrauch (which stayed on course) became much more easily accessible.

Why didn't Diana just leave the 34 in their lineup as is and simply introduce the EMS as a completely new model with a different model designation?

The 35 Commemorative might be as close as we get to the traditional look of the old 34 line up. Still waiting for that to hit the shelves here in the US though.
