Did I make a big mistake? I bought a Yong Heng compressor from China!!

No big thing, it's just a flesh wound.

Being adventurous, I would have tried to grind down the new secondary piston rod, if it were no more than .003-.004. 

The dipper may have broken due to a defect, not the design, so it may not be a widespread problem... I hope.

Yes I know an older post, but maybe this will help with New B’s on these YH. This is year 21 and they upgraded the second stage. I use Powemate Compressor Oil, very clear, but doesn’t matter I change out every 3 fills. Also these are customizable. I put on a 6” Nipple extension of the gauge with an elbow, so easy to read. The YH is 1/8 bsp threads. Pain in the butt to go from NPT to BSP, but doable. I also have a PMV on the outtake of my China Gold Filter and a gauge set at 2100 PSI so the air is pressurized at the filter soot works better. Just make sure You Get The Right Fittings! BSP is not NPT! The stuff could blow off! Like I said , pain in the butt but doable.

When ordering new Yong Heng parts from China you must be certain they are listed as Yong Heng. There are many vendors on aliexpress and many carry parts for multiple brands of pcp compressors. Do your due diligence when ordering parts, don't just look at the pictures, and if in doubt contact the seller. Of the parts I've ordered all were original Yong Heng parts and fit properly. Hope this helps any new people looking at the Yong Heng.

Thanks and your right. I noticed that by accident just before I bought a YH. There are quite a few vendors selling parts with a picture of a YH, but not stating it’s for a YH. These parts are very easy to copy, which says something about China’s copy-right laws, which appear to be non-existing. I also noticed it with certain Bull Boss Hatsan air gun parts. One guy on eBay is selling resivours for that gun and it’s a copy, not from Hatsan, same goes for their Spark Compressor there are knock offs out there.

Have any US folks purchased through Walmart and added the warranty? 4 years for 50 bucks through Allstate seems like a safe bet?

I bought the Hatsan Spark through Walmart with the warranty and the fans went at 2 months old. I contacted Walmart and they told me I had to go through the 3rd party! What a nightmare! After many conversations with Walmart, the warranty company and the 3rd party who was practically ignored me, Walmart gave me my money back I had to wait for a month for the fans which came from China I fixed it myself! That Warranty is only good for purchase when it’s through Walmart, be careful find out first if it’s directly through Walmart or a 3rd party! My other option would be through Hatsan, it still would have taken weeks! I don’t know about the YH though if their sold directly through Walmart the warranty should be better, it’s easy to check before you buy.

I bought mine from Wally World and it didn't last an initial fill. I returned it to the store and was given a refund for the compressor and warranty no questions asked. Easiest return I have ever done.

Bought three of them one leaked second was not complete third work like a charm. Filled gun and 45 minute scba from 0 to 4500 psi no problem at all. They work well when you get a good unit

When I'm going to go out of town I take my 45 minute scba tank with me and have been refilling it for almost 3 years with the yong heng. When I'm at home I just plug it into the gun and run it for a couple of minutes because it doesn't take long even for a 500cc tank that's only going to go to 3000 psi. A pressurized the scba tank to 4300 PSI and that gives me enough air to refill all of my guns several times.

I use mobile one oil which is 100% synthetic but if you want to use the purple stuff you're just spending a little extra money. I took the hose off my hand pump and put it on a 12-inch long molecular separator.

The oil still looks clean after 2 hours of running but I did change it after the first 20 minutes so that cleaned out anything that was left during the manufacturing process and as long as it continues to look clean I am not going to worry about oil that runs 30,000 miles in my car!

Boy have we heard this stuff before. There is a mine set there cheap so it is ok. The guy above had to take a new compressor to a shop & spend another $45 to repair it?

But heck it,s only another $45 right on a brand new machine. I think the chinese are laughing there butt off at us Americans all the way to the bank. 

I have a Tuxing I just bought that s few of the winding in the motor burned up on start up. Geezzzzzz! Try selling that crap over the counter in a retail shop.Ya Right!

I know this is a bit of an older thread but hoping someone can chime in. Looking for opinions on this YH Piston / Rod does this need to be replaced. I feel a lot of slop in there and just not sure if this is normal or if I should swap it out. In assuming someone on this thread has rebuilt theirs.

After much research and careful consideration, I decided to purchase the Yong Heng Compressor.
I contacted the owners of the compant and they gaurenteed that any and all parts are in stock and if I EVER needed assistance, parts, maintenance help I would get full support!
The compressor has several videos on youtube with all very positive reviews by happy cusomers!

But here's the real deal guys this thing cost 325$ SHIPPED!! I am so exited! I will keep everyody posted as I experience this thing (Good or bad)!

Does anyone have one of these? Did I make a mistake? What do you guys think?

Mine has given me zero trouble, and I've had it for over a year. The worst I can say about it, is that it's loud. But for the price, compared to some offered by the big name vendors, I could buy 3 or more Yong Hengs, for what they're asking...

Been using mine for 2 1/2yrs now. No issues. Monitor the cooling water temperature while in operation though. Gotta keep it cooled down.

Mine is over a year now of filling my 45 minute SCBA tanks from around 3000 to over 4000 about once a month. It started taking more time so I replaced an O-ring in the area of the reed valve and it is back doing it in about 15 minutes. I added a computer radiator to my coolant bucket and put connectors through the bucket lid (and a power line) so I could close the bucket. Now it is just walk out there, put the male to make in the line to the bottle, flip the pump and radiator fan lines, make sure the vent is open and turn on the YH. There is a one way in the extra filter so I open the bottle right after closing the vent of the YH. Once the compressor pressure exceeds the bottle pressure filling begins. I watch the temperature but no ice is necessary in the spring/fall/winter to keep temperature under 60 C. In the summer I add three frozen soda bottles of ice and the temperature stays low. I am using NuVair oil. It is noisy but I can tolerate that for 15 minutes once a month especially when the alternative is either a whole lot of pumping or a big expense on a "better" compressor. YH is working well for me.
