Dear Sir,

I have bought 500 as well and installed regulater in it set at 160 bars. There is a difference between my 400 and 500. When I remove the bottle from 400 there comes sound of air release. It’s quite normal. When I further remove that plastic threaded part which is joined with one end with the bottle and other end with the action and has quick fill connection in it, there comes no sound of release of air pressure.

In my royale 500 air release on removal of bottle is same as with 400. But when I remove the plastic part there again come out high pressure of air from it.

I need to know which one is behaving correctly?

400’s regulator takes a few seconds to recover after each fire while 500’s regulator takes no time to be ready for next shot.

If any one gun has problem what do you advise to rectify it?

Thanks and regards,

When the regulator is sealed shut there is only one way for the regulated air to escape and that is through the barrel. Air can not escape towards the unregulated end because the regulator is sealed shut. So when you remove the bottle the air on the regulated side pushes the regulator towards the fill valve assembly. If there is room between fill valve and regulator the regulator will move and air will escape through the breathing hole near the guage or from the fill valve. If the regulator and fill valve are snug then regulator will only move back when you start removing the fill assembly and that is when the air on regulated side will leak through the breathing hole or the fill valve.
Hope I was able to explain it right.
Your both guns may be behaving perfect. Regulator setting slow happens when we adjust the regulator and the piston seat moves from its original position.
