One day I got a brain fart.... not sure if anybody has done this or not...
I have collected Galvanized and/or black pipe Floor Flanges... I drilled holes in junk wood to desired diameter .... Also I screwed the appropriate size nipple into the back of each flange.... This gives it the true diameter of each size... I started with 1/4 , 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 , 1.00 inch....
I put steel of different types in back of them to hear a nice ding sound.... If you do not hit the hole area the pellets just flattens out..... Have not seen a pellet ricochet
yet.... but I have a large wood crate like box to put targets in... so no chance of one getting out if a pellet did ricochet....
Seems to work good and cast iron takes the beating...... and yes I had two wild pellets hit the 2 x 6 .... not sure why...
