Hi, folks. DIFTA is hosting a Field Target Fun Shoot this Saturday the 13th at the WAC-IWLA near Damascus, MD. This is a great opportunity to try Field Target without all the cut-throat competition and seriousness of normal, "non-fun" DIFTA matches, whatever that means. Target setup will begin at 9:00 AM and the firing will begin at 10:00 AM. There's no fee for the Fun Shoot.
This time around, we're going to spice things up with an optional Field Target Golf Match. There will be 36 targets on 12 lanes as usual but, differently from the other Fun Shoot events, Paolo will be setting up the targets.
If you aren't interested in shooting the FT Golf event, you can shoot the course as a regular FT course.
Here are the rules for the 18-hole FT Match:
You'll be shooting at 18 targets defined on your scoring card. You have up to 4 shots or 4 minutes (whichever comes first) to knock down a target and on the scoring card you'll write the number of shots you used for that target. If the target is still standing laughing at you after the 4 shots or you ran out of time, you write 6.
Wins who ends with the lowest score.
There will be three different levels of difficulty for the course (i.e. different scoring cards with different combinations of targets).
If there is enough interest, we could offer a 36-hole Super Golf, with 3 shots/3 minutes limit.
After everybody is done, weather allowing, we'll light up the grill and grill whatever we bring.
The next matches after this are the Maryland State Championship match on July 11, followed by a regular match on August 8.
