DIFTA Match Report Saturday, July 16, 2022
Ten shooters, including Antoni Kleczek, a self-taught back yard shooter at his second ever FT event, competed in today's match. Rex and Brian were away.
The weather was typical for MD in July, starting at 76° and climbing to only 79°, but very, very humid. Thunder clouds rolled in during the match, and towards the end, some of the targets were getting dark, and the kill zones harder to see. Amazingly, especially after the prior match, there was absolutely no wind, almost unheard of at DIFTA.
The new match design, featuring more longer distance targets than usual at DIFTA, seemed to favor piston shooters, who put in great scores, with Scott Broom taking the match high score (59), with a strong performance by Hector Medina (55) in WFTF. Antoni Kleczek put in a remarkable score of 44 for just his 2nd FT match. Roel Jackson’s scope died after only 5 lanes, but he soldiered on to a respectable score; much better than DNF.
The next match will be Saturday, August 20, format to be decided later.
See you then!
