DIFTA Match Report Sunday, November 6, 2022

Eleven shooters turned out for a 60-shot match with one off hand and one kneeling lane. Temps started in the high 60s and rose to low 70s during the match, with continuous cloud cover, and high humidity. There was wind in the tree canopy, but the air was mostly still at ground level, with only occasional windage adjustments required.

The average course difficulty was 30.3T; with six targets > 40T; six targets with 0.5” – 0.375” kill zones; and ten targets set out at > 40 yards.

Brian VanLiew took the match high score in Open PCP, closely followed by Knobs in WFTF PCP, with Tom Strong leading the Hunter Division. After long absences due to illness it was great to see Al Otter and Mike Harris coming out for a warm up shoot. We wish them both well, and hope to see them next year.

Special thanks to all the road warriors who travelled long distances to shoot with us. The match was a lot of fun and I think everyone had a good time.

Mark,
Thank you for the report. Nice match with lots of smaller kill zones( as usual). I did offer to provide some drill bits to open up some of those KZs, but no takers, Oh well. The weather really worked out fine for us with rain driving down to the match but NO rain at DIFTA for our match. Great job with that Mark! I've seen some fairly recent posts about the Open Division being dead but based on this match, I guess not. Overall a very nice day at DIFTA. Thank you.
