DIFTA Match Report Sunday, September 8, 2024
Eleven shooters turned out for the MD state Championship. It was a perfect Indian Summer day, with temps starting in the mid 50s, climbing to mid 60s at the match end. The tree canopy was full and some lanes were a bit dark. Winds were light and variable, mild by DIFTA standards, but enough to require hold off, especially for WFTF shooters.
The course was 12 lanes, with one kneeling and one offhand lane, with three targets per lane shot twice. The Troyer value for the course was 29.70 with seven targets > 40T; 6 targets with 0.375”or 0.5” kill zones; and eleven targets set out at >= 40 yards.
The match high score of 60/72 was taken by Greg White in Hunter Division. Mark King and Paolo Amadeo tied in WFTF with 50 each, but top position goes to Paolo who was competing with a Springer. Mark Mayer the top scorer in Open Division. Laura Setikas-Dyke was the Women’s MD State Champion. Alan Dyke kept his promise! Sadly, Alan Dyke had to drop out because his eyesight is too poor to allow him to see targets when the lighting is bad. Al Otter turned out to have some fun but did not finish the match.
As always many thanks to those who travel long distances to compete and keep our sport alive
Paolo Amadeo acted as match Director.
The next match at DIFTA will be held on Saturday October 5.
