How does local dive shop connect to CF tank? In particular, this tank? Does the hose connection have to be removed and dive shop connects to M18x1.5? ( I assume this the thread size)
IME fire departments usually have their own filling station/compressor, and talking with the right person can offer an opportunity. I've been told, by the person in charge of their breathing apparatus, that the potential liablity, issue of private property, need to verify tank approval, and interruptions mean that they will not fill private tanks. Your experience may vary but I never found it worth the time to have someone else fill my tanks, when I did use tanks. Most dive shops here in south Florida use either DIN or yoke/K or J valves. Most also don't fill higher than 2800-3200psi. Generally speaking in my experience they know little to nothing about PCPs. Might ask your local fire department where they get their bottles filled.
some departments in my area have an outside company fill their tanks, to many stations for each to have their own compressors.IME fire departments usually have their own filling station/compressor, and talking with the right person can offer an opportunity. I find that a portable compressor works better for my use, at our range. I'm also reluctant to transport high pressure vessels in the passenger compartment.
