DNT Optics ThermNight TNC225R

Is the image quality in the display seriously lacking, or are you simply concerned about the discrepancy in advertising?

I agree that the false advertising is BS…. but does the scope fail for you in practical application?

I ask, because the resolution on the videos posted looks solid enough for night work in IR mode.
i have a zulus 5x20. and it is an amazing scope for the money. here is a video i took when i first set it up. Dnt therm wasnt available when i bought it or i would of. still going to. but waiting to see if i can save a few bucks and get one second hand

Luckiest Coyote on the planet… at 149 yards through the TNC225R.

Had it mounted on a 16” suppressed .223…. should have shot him right there, but was a little unsure of the range. Once I got him ranged, he figured out what was going on and booked-it.

Bummer on the missed opportunity. I keep looking at that image and my finger twitches.
Really tough to judge range at night on those farm fields. Don't see many pivots on the wet side. Nice clear pic. Is there video to go with it?

Yeah, there’s a short video, but it’s a little Blair Witchish… which is why I only posted the pic from the vid.

In hindsight, I think I’ll simply range a couple landmarks with the unit prior to starting any calling. That way I don’t have to use the RF in the heat of the moment.

Is there a plan for a higher resolution model in the future?

Honestly a 256 thermal/1920 NV economy optic doesn't entice me.
To be honest the 225R is a great unit for the price but as you said it is our entry level. Yes the 384 and 640 version are in the works and we are trying to finalize everything.

I have my thermnight ordered. I ordered the rail later that day after researching here. I received the rail but still waiting on the scope it’s been about a week and still hasn’t shipped. I’m usually patient as all heck but predators are coming onto our property pretty thick right now. A lot further distance than my current thermal setup which just doesn’t allow me to get close enough with how my property is set up. Excited to get this thing though, the LRF is going to be the big upgrade from my current setup.

They sell out fast the estimated times on the website are accurate so time of order was probably 2-3 week lead times. It's worth the wait for sure but if you have any questions feel free to reach out.
