DNT TNC225R - Anything better for the price?

I've been wanting night capabilities ever since I got into airguns 5 years ago. I haven't really been following the technology because of the high costs. I just didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on scope for a varmint air. I also have the issue of wanting it all; IR, thermal, and LRF with ballistics. I recently just came across the TNC225R and it seems to be everything I want all in one unit and it doesn't cost $3,000+++. Is this the unit to get for the price? It's going on either a .22 or .25 gun shooting withing 50 or so meters.

I know image quality will not be the same as much more expensive units but it seems to be more than capable for how I plan to use it. Even in daytime, it will help locate the varmints and for those times I have one get away from me, it will be much easier to track them as well.

What are your thoughts?

If you think you need to have thermal then this is currently the cheapest all-around option out there. If you don't need thermal then I would suggest a Zulu's as it has better daytime picture.

Yes, I've thought about it and I really would like thermal. The amount of times I've sat there staring at a spot because I thought I saw something moved.

The 5-20 NV on the TNC225R is the same as the Zulus dedicated 5-20, so you are getting the same scope with the addition of 256k 3-12 thermal. For small game at night thermal is the way to go! The multispectral are the best of both worlds. I have both scopes and at night take the TNC225R out the most now. During the day, I'll take the Zulus - which I got the 3-12 for the closer pesting and wider FOV!

I just ordered the new PARD Landsat, so I'll let everyone know what I think once it comes in. My DNTs are here to stay... Thermal is very addicting!

From reading the specs I thought they aren't the same. The thermal model has worst viewfinder and worst video recording specifications.
