DNT Zulus 5-20 daytime performance

No experience with zulus but I myself was highly disappointed in digital daytime performance of the one leaf nv400. Have 3 Blackhound scopes and they blow the digital out of the water in clarity as soon as you hit the zoom on a digital scope at all. No comparison. I seem to be a minority though. Most people love them. I would never get another for primary daytime use for sure. I wouldn’t recommend one especially if you like to print small groups on paper at more than about 30 yards.
The oneleaf did very well at base magnification in day use but yes as soon as you zoom just like the atn the image starts to go. I have found the image to stay clear much longer and not pixilated innthe zulus. I know your not looking but wanted to let you know as I totally get what you mean.

My main reason is some night hunting for coyotes and rats I hope it is repeatable changing it off and on . Something with thermal probably would have been better but It is only going to see limited use.
You could check out the ThermNight TNC225R has all the features of the zulus but also has a thermal. Not needed but a great tool.

No problem I appreciate it. Yeah digital is probably never in my future again. One of those don’t try to fix what already works really well kind of things. Will keep the one leaf in case I want to ever night hunt though. I like it for that. 👍
