Do I Really Want a Wildcat?

Probably I will get the Wildcat. Even though my Impact is on a return trip for repair I am wondering if selecting FX again is wise?? I checked 4 different rifles. Wildcat II, Brocock Bamtam Hi-lite, Taipan Veteran, and Kalibr Cricket) Most sold for about $1300 except the Brocock. It was $900, but the .25 is not regulated. Some kind of modified 'slingshot' mechanism is supposed to be almost as good as a regulator. Depends on where you read the info and whom to believe. But it's supposed to only deliver 30 FPE...all the rest are in the mid 40s or above. All four rifles were within one pound weigh of one another (6.4 to 7.7) and their lengths were within one inch of each other (33-34") except for the Taipan Veteran. It was 28. It was also the most expensive but you can pre-order...out of stock. Nicely, if you wanted spare magazines they were all in the $30 range. Unlike the miserable Impact at $80 per magazine.
The Brocock is the only one I saw listed a having a power selector and with its 480cc bottle on the front was supposed to deliver 70 shots per fill,,,but at only 30 FPE. Magazine capacity was from 8-12 on all four, so I dont think that would be a major factor. Some were with moderator and the Brocock only said 'baffled'. However all listed additional moderators as options. Makes me wonder what the sound levels are in the real world (your backyard!)
I didn't phone and double check what I saw from the various dealer's websites. And I did find discrepancies on the data you see above. Seems to be more confusion with anything above .22. I did limit my data collection to .25. A previous poster indicated the Wildcat was 4" shorter than I found. I hope that's true, but overall length was related to caliber as well.
This involved a fair amount of work and I did it for me...but thought I'd share with forum members. I put in into an Excel spreadsheet but didn't know how or want to learn how to include the spread sheet here. Please add or provide contrasting info. I haven't decided yet. The Brocock would be high on the list except for the 30 FPE.
