Do You Find "Bottle Guns" Ugly?

For me personally, airguns are not fashion accessories. how pretty the tool i am holding looks is not an issue. I'll take bare-bones simplified functional design like AF rifles. Not "tacticool" or "vintage style" but the parts put together efficiently and a utilitarian finish. 


I see the beauty of some of those wood finished guns though, and I don't think the bottle ruins them - I think the bottle looks "cooler" because they are practical and bot hampered by a fpcus on style. They have a distinct look from firearms that I actually prefer.

I prefer tubes to bottles. That said, I've seen a few bottled guns lately that I wouldn't mind trying. I don't think they look ugly in general, but I prefer a slimmer profile. Additionally, at least on my DreamTac, the tube is a fairly comfortable forearm. I feel like a bottle would limit where I could place my left hand while shooting offhand.

Im partial to tube bullpups too! but like others said, AGT really hit the nail on the head with the uragan. Great looking bullpup with a bottle!

I am not a fan of the bottle look, I prefer the tube I have a bulldog and a Huben so far and just ordered a cricket 2 with the WSA stock because the new tactical with the bottle turned me off. But ask my teenager he thinks the bottles make them look cool.

Does anyone think a redwolf looks ugly with the bottle? I certainly dont! Who would rather sacrifice shot count for a tube? The original .303 wolverine looked AWESOME with the tube! But shot count sucked.

Bottle with chassis yes I like that....but, bottle with furniture in my eyes is ugly as F

I used to not care for the aesthetics of bottle guns UNTIL I got my Royale 500 & Boss. I don't even notice the bottle anymore. Couldn't care less if they had a colostomy bag but still shot with the same ease & accuracy! Function over form is the priority.

I think the Uragan looks like a rifle and a pontoon boat had a baby. But as good as they perform, you have to let looks slide. In the PCP world, how a gun performs trumps how it looks but there are still some good looking guns out there.

The bottle guns where the bipod mount is way back by the trigger guard and require extensions or a bottle clamp? Not so much, the guns where the stock extends partially under the bottle are more appealing to my eyes and look more balance with a bipod.

Too busy loading all the extra magazines it can shoot to have noticed. This question reminds me of the old Motel 6 commercial where Tom Bodett says that 'our rooms look like everyone else's when you turn the lights out to go to sleep'. I prefer to spend my time shooting my guns, than staring at them. I can shoot more with bottles and that's beautiful to me.

I don't think bottle guns are ugly.

A lot of them are quite beautiful with their curvy walnut or lammy stocks.

I believe they also have some advantages over tube guns.

Like being less prone to POI shifts due to pressure changes.



That being said I do appreciate the flat bottomed fore stock on a Taipan

Envious you went the modding path on the AF guns. Looks like you been having fun. Think we both got our TalonP's same time Spring '20. Be interested if others think AF's are bottle guns, as with mine has just become pure function. And function it has.

I believe Airforce were the first PCP I ever laid eyes on in a youtube video. I did not know what I was looking at. I'd certainly consider them bottle guns, and include any others that have a bottle where the shoulder stock would be in the category. These are very reminiscent of the Tipman paintball guns.

Below is another example, one of which I had and the cycling was never an issue...semi vintage...however Butt stock integrated. FX never made the .25 cal promissed Boo! Sadly I sold it because I am a .25 cal fan!
