Does anybody carry this part on this side of the pond?

Hey fellow airgunners! Hope you all had a great weekend. I though I would end mine with some shooting, as soon as I put in the replacement burst disc on my Yong Heng. Well, it is still bleeding by! A little closer inspection than the last time, and I discovered the ring that retains the burst disc is cracked.

Does anybody here in the U.S. carry parts for the Yong Heng? Or do I have to wait another three to four weeks for this part to cross the big water? Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated, brothers and sisters!

If you can't find what you need locally and want to use your pump in the meantime, just temporarily block the hole with an M10x1 bolt. If you don't have a moulded Dowty seal, a copper washer should work. Scuba burst discs are fairly common but are of a different size. Here is a link for a new assembly.

Did you try eBay? That should be first place to look imo. I type in 5000 psi burst disc and tons pop out for $5-9. IDK why people having hard time finding buret disc.

Perhaps you assumed i am too lazy to do at least some research myself. An understandable assumption, given our modern culture, but a wrong assumption. The difficulty I am experiencing is two-fold. First, all the Yong Heng-specific listings I found on eBay and elsewhere, originate in China. I would rather not wait the three to four weeks they list for shipping time. I went ahead and ordered one, though, in case I do not find one closer. Second, the best I can tell, the threads on the housing are metric, M10 x 1. Most of the burst disc assemblies I found had no specifications whatsoever in regards to the thread size. I was hoping that perhaps somebody on this forum has also had this problem, and could share some information with me that would be helpful. I originally ordered 10 burst discs, only to find out after they arrived that the real problem is a cracked retainer ring.

I do know why I am having a hard time finding this burst disc assembly stateside. Because it is a part made specifically for the Yong Heng compressor, a relatively low-production machine, but hey, thanks for the help!

Thanks, Eaglebeak! I was considering just that approach, since I am low on air and really need some trigger time. I never leave my compressor unattended once it gets above 4000 psi anyways. I had already ordered a new assembly from China, in case I don't find one locally. I appreciate the confirmation on the thread size. That's what I came up with also. i should only need one fill on my 60-minute tank to get me through the wait.

Yes, the burst disc is not needed for running the compressor, just plug up the hole with whatever you have in hand for the time being, e.g. a female quick connector with M10x1 thread + sealing washer + a test quick connector plug ( dead head )

edit : an even more quick and dirty temp fix : epoxy a bolt of suitable size to seal up the hole of the original housing of the burst disc, the head of the bolt should be inside the housing so that it cannot be blown out by the pressure. You will have to put a plastic sealing washer into the hole to do the sealing of the thread.

Thanks for the idea, airgunfans!
