Does anyone have an Airgun they haven't tuned?

Depends on the definition of “tuned”. I haven’t done anything to most of my guns. I’ll switch power levels on the Red Wolf and Pulsar depending on my use of them and have info on which pellets do well on what setting but that’s not really tuning. I’ve experimented with the Wildcat 3 to learn what power level works best. Never done anything to a springer except shoot it. I’ve made a mess a couple of times with mid-range guns by attempting to make them into things they were not. I’m not a tuner. I’d rather shoot than tinker. 😎

Does DE- tuning count?

I actually detune some guns for better accuracy.

In fact a fully $$$WAR$$$ (CHA-CHING!!!) Benjamin Armada detuned to nearly half the power is twice as accurate believe it or not!!!

AND!!! Hammer Time Troy Tuned KRAL backed down to low power is crazy stupid accurate more accurate than straight out of the box.

AND!!! A Will Platt tuned Evanix cranked down a lot same as Hammers above better than straight out of the box.

AND!!! A 177 Hatsan Flash (29-30fpe gun straight out of the box) cranked down to 18fpe minor tune for a 2000psi fill and 38 shots unregulated variance from about between 865 to 890fps for 38 consistant shots starting from a 2000psi fill.

Many more but all detuned not tuned and all shot significantly more accurate. Mainly backing the power down.

I'm heavily into ultimate keyhole accuracy and not power.

my 2001 diana 34 is stock and so is my almost 1 year old .25 gauntlet . i did adjust the trigger on the gauntlet but no new parts other than a scope and rings . i thought about tuning the gauntlet for more power/FPE but decided the increase would only be several FPE and decided if i really want more power that (for me) the better investment would be spent going towards a larger caliber . if , IF .... if we get a second stimulus check i've got the OK from the boss to get a bulldog .357 .

i put over $300 into a DBO/1322 several years ago and i kind of regret it now . but pumper vs. PCP is apples vs oranges IMO .

everything isn't for everybody so do what makes YOU happy .

I haven’t owned a single gun I haven’t tinkered/tuned, everyone’s needs are different. My impact has been tuned more than I could remember and then some! It was a great Covid pastime but it’s shooting 23 grain NSA slugs really well now, although I’m about to try 25.8 grains.....off to tuning again! Hahaha

for every pellet I have 2 tunes: home (650-700 FPS) and hunting (830-850 FPS). same goes for slugs except no back yard tune, slugs have close range or 20-50 yards tune at 800-850FPS due to flat trajectory within that range or long range 60+ yards tune at 900-950FPS due to flat trajectory at 60+ yards. Multiply 2 with different ammo I have tried and multiply by 4 guns.......it was a good time during Covid lock down(I tune my slugs in the national forest, not my back yard).

MOST OF mine shoot perfect straight out of their boxes or factory cases. I never tinker with any gun that already shoots perfect. I'm probably not smarter than their factories when it comes to engineering and don't like voiding warranties or wasting money on unnecessary parts just buy another gun that suits the purpose better.

Not powerful enough I grab my 30 RAW HM1000x too heavy then grab my 25 Sumatra 500cc or 30 FX Bobcat or 303 Daystate Renegade HP still not enough power then my Benjamin Bulldog 357 or Career 9mm 357 or 45 Evanix or 50 Quackenbush. Many other high power options too.

I also shoot factory tunes only. The only adjustment I make are the knobs and selectors - no wrenches. I also have guns in all the calibers so I am blessed with having the luxury of selecting the weapon with the right caliber for the application.

Daystate CRX was the FIRST rifle to EARN the reputation of "Out Of The Box" ready to go. I own 2 of them. One is Allen Zasdney made curley maple. The other is Dave Mattics titanium reservoir and airstripper. The barrels are one hole accuracy. Triggers are perfect. The previous model CR94 was it's peer with a different trigger that also was good.

Buy one if ya get a chance. The new stuff is nice BUT Daystate CRX and CR94 deliver the goods just as well as current offerings.

Couldn’t agree more Don! My CRX is a steel receiver lefty (pretty rare). The only thing I’ve done to it was to refinish the stock and send it to Joe Korick for a reseal. I don’t shoot it much any more but but it always makes me smile when I do. This gun just exudes quality, designed and built by people who really understood and cared about what they were doing. Uj

Have not touched my AAA Slayer .357 as it shoots really good and don't want to screw it up.

On the other hand I am constantly playing around with my Impact; switching barrels, switching between slugs and pellets, etc. Sometimes I think I should throw away all but one barrel kit and order a few cases of one type of projectile and just shoot the gun instead of tinkering.

Often overlooked is simply cleaning a barrel, instead they tweak on every adjustment possible until the gun shoots worse. Lol

Prior to selling my Brocock Commander, I had 7,000 rounds through it without ever cleaning or touching a thing. My Concept Lite every 250 or 500 rounds I'll send two felt pellets through it.

I've never felt the need to "golden screwdriver" any of them. They've always worked just fine as-is and "perfection" is the enemy of "good enough".
