The Gamo Swarm Whisper is a budget beginner rifle. So that’s why I got it. I’ve never actually killed a rat because I’m still practicing.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a PCP air rifle for hunting?

Dizzums, I personally like the Gamo Red Fire .22 cal pellets out of my Gamo Swarm Whisper. So if I use that rifle for small game hunting that’s what I’d go with. Any other pellet for me pretty much would be for fun

I think there’s a lot of us that started out with a budget rifle. But you will find out that a Decent made PCP rifle will be much easier to shoot accurately . I used to work on a farm when I was a teenager and when we turn the lights on in the barn and rats would be scattering so fast that it was near impossible to get a shot on one unless you used a shotgun.I used to shoot mice in my house with a daisy BB gun. I was careful where the mouse was before I shot though. I have a cat now, so no problems with mice anymore.

Ripper, a down side to my budget rifle is that it’s a break barrel, so if I miss my shot I’ll have to reload and that could give the animal a chance to get away. So I want a PCP air rifle for the power and the multi shot without having to reload every shot.

I would look at Benji Cayden or Kratos no better rifles for the money out there. 5 yr warranty both setup perfect for hunting with sling studs, great trigger and safety placement.

Napairgunner, what advantages does a air rifle have over a firearm besides being required not to have hearing protection and no regulations by the law?
