Does anyone own an AirTex compressor?

I have one, the TX45 its big heavy powerful Fast and very clean air. I have only had mine about a year, & it fills so fast I only have a couple of hours of run time on it. I would not recommend this compressor to fill directly to a gun, it fills so fast 4.2cfm @ 4,500psi it would be easy to overfill a small tank.

I picked mine up from Bruce ( the owner of AirTex ) house. He said he has some out there with over 3,000 hours on them with no rebuild's.
Bruce seems to be a stand up guy to deal with. Gave me a full lesson on using the compressor and servicing it, which I have not needed to do yet.
There lots of money for sure, but I feel they will still be worth something years from now if I ever get out of the airgun hobby.

One more thing I live in East Texas where the humidity is VERY high, the AirTex comes with some of the best filters there are. I open the filter drains about every 5-10 minutes of operation and it dumps lots of water. Very nice to know that is not going into my fill bottles.

hope this helps

I have an Airetex 45 that I bought 2 years ago. It is big and heavy, and built like a tank. I fill my tank, and a couple of other shooters tanks, I even fill a 6000 psi nitrogen tank for a buddy of mine ( fill it to about 4800 psi). Anyhow, after 2 years and about 12 hours on the hour meter, I have had no issues other than The fact I shoot a lot more now. I feel like this was a large investment, but money well spent. I would buy it again. The best thing is that this is a "plug and play" unit . Hope this helps.

Yep. What he said. Mine only has a few hours, maybe 3 and I've had it for almost 2 years. Built like a tank and fills my 97 cu ft bottle from 3000 psi up to 4500 psi in maybe 10 minutes. Best money I've ever spent.
And Bruce is one heck of a guy.

7-8 years, fill my 88cf tank weekly on average, my little tank monthly on average. 2200 to 4500 psi. Still under 20 hours total run time on the counter. Makes me think something is off somewhere but it really only takes 5-8 minutes to fill the 88cf tank.

Only prob has been the orings one on of the heads. Replacing both orings takes a couple Allen wrenches, 15 min (including moving the unit so I can get to it) and a few dollars for the teflon orings. Unit still works fine when these leak but obviously .... they leak and increase fill times ever so slightly.

Call Airtex and ask for Bruce Dodson to discuss concerns. He is (or was) an avid Airgun guy himself!

I bought mine a little over a year ago and had zero issues. I have 11 hours run time and that equates to many fills on my Great White tank. I usually refill at 3k to 3.5k and it take about 10 minutes and it is no problem filling to 4.7k so when the tank cools it is at 4.5k. I did change the oil after a year but that was just me being anal, probably won't change it again for 50 hours run time as recommended and that will be several years. It produces clean, dry, breathable air without any add on equipment. But it is not portable at about 175 lbs.
