Does anyone shoot 10M pistol?

I do have a problem with wadcutters tearing out large holes that are difficult to score, expecially when I have more than one shot close together. I have been using pointed pellets that leave a more precise puncture, but without the round pellet mark of the wadcutters. Pointed pellets are also easier to load in my V10.

I am beginning to suspect that there is an upward kick that is pulling my shots. I certainly am pulling shots up and to the right with bad trigger pulls.

As Stevoo mentioned, I have noticed that an impact velocity right at 400 FPS (requiring a bit more speed at the muzzle of course) is critical for clean holes with wadcutters. It helps to spring for commercial targets, printed on paper which tears much better than typical bond paper. And a nice accessory for accurate scoring is one of these cheap little gauges used in matches - it centers itself in the hole and magnifies to help you find the line on the target.

More weight at the muzzle would probably help you; the V10 (or at least the predecessor Gamo version I had) is VERY muzzle-light, much more so than any competitor I know of. Odd that someone out there has not marketed a fix for that over the years, but I'm sure a person more mechanically apt than me could figure something out.

I used shoot competitively. I still have my FWB 65 MKI. My scores were mid 550's low 560's. Eyesight isn't as good anymore! Thinking about installing a dot sight on the FWB65. My Baikal IZH 46M has a dot sight and I can shoot it comfortably.

Agreeing with MD….The problem when considering a V10 is its velocity at the muzzle, already being light of 400 fps but then losing 40 to 50 fps across the first 10 Yards. Pellets are probably striking at approx 350 fps and tearing. Good card research, as suggested would be one way past it.

Again, interesting that FWB set the vel of the 65/80/90 at 450 fps possibly so it would make 400 fps at the 10 yards.
