Does anyone use a "RED DOT" 2 or 3 pwr?

I just got a new Gamo Swarm Whisper .22 cal. (I'm not real impressed with the "toy optics" 4 x 32 that came with it)

I have a "Bushnell red dot"mdl mf~1203 that I am not currently using and I am considering trying it out, but I have little confidence in it. I also have a fixed power "Simmons 6pwr and 44 mil objective lens(higher quality than the gamo scope). Will the airgun trash either one of them, as I have been told and read that regular firearm scopes wouldn't last on a "springer? Tks in advance...

I don’t know how harsh of a Shot cycle that gun has. My neighbor has a Gamo Break barrel but don’t remember which model and his isn’t that hard of a shot cycle . Not much recoil. If you want a budget friendly scope that will handle the recoil, I would suggest going with a UTG scope. I used one on a magnum Springer and it held up fine.Has the milldots And it always held zero also.

i have a 3X prism ... its good for very close small stuff or better for large game and a big bore ... and i dont knock the 4X 'toy optic' .. i use one on my main pestimg rig around the house, its lightning fast with enough mag to dial things in well out to 30 .. has more kills on it than anything else i got .

Thanks for the info. It may well be a good scope, it just feels "cheap" compared to the 20+ scopes I have and the 4-5 just laying around.

I have the "Gamo Swarm Whisper".22, I just got it a few days ago and have only shot it a few dozen times at 25-30 ft. It seems 'spot on' at that short range but more testing is needed further out. Where did you get the UTG, price range and magnification? Thanks...

I bought the UTG scope which is a 4 power on eBay for $70.I have a 3 x 9 on one of my PCPs that I’ve bought from pyramid air for $100. That was before Covid, so I don’t know if the prices are more now or not. No matter where I buy my things I’ll shop around to find the best price. But don’t jump on anything until I look at reviews and feedback first.
