I'm getting a Wildcat MkIII Compact and I'm wondering if the Huggett Shroud/Moderator piece sold by UA works on the MkIII or if it's just for the Mk I and II models.
I have one on my MkIII Compact and it works great.
EDIT: Understand, however, that while the Huggett shroud/moderator provides a clean, elegant and effective (quiet) solution, it does not reduce the OAL of the gun as compared to the OEM shroud with a short moderator like a 0dB or a DFL Tanto.
Another question - what height are your rings? I'm finding my med rings don't get the scope high enough for a clear picture. I put a pic riser on it but it's a little too high now.
I have also found in the past that in order to get the axis of the scope as close to the bore-axis of the barrel, that I have gotten some so low that they can't be seen through comfortably. Mount a set of taller rings, and the gun is actually fun to shoot again! Maybe it will affect me at longer distances, but my shooting is casual, so who cares?
It also likely helps on my WCIII that the eye-box of the little Optisan 10x scope is pretty forgiving.
Yeah - I think maybe a .5" riser would be perfect. I put on a 1" riser and it's too high.
The Wildcat arrived this afternoon - I'm pretty happy with the purchase. For a .177 it definitely does what I'll need. Got it setup with reg @ 120 and pushing the NSA 12.5 @ 925-930 for around 24fpe on P7 all the way down to 12fpe on P1.
