I have shot ALOT of pest birds at 35 yds with my WC25 at 34gr pellets. Even at that "close" distance, a 10 to 15 mph full value wind drifts the pellet at least one-half mil.
Don't hold for that and you miss the bird.
50 yds turns into one full mil of hold for those same winds. Holding crosshairs and ending up with a nice group on paper two inches to the side of the bullseye is fine...on a paper target.
But shooting birds or animals in the wind, you have to hold for it unless you want to miss all the tme.
