Done With Bipods, ...bag suggestions?

Wondering what bags people are using when not using a bipod. I don't shoot competitions and am not a fan of shooting paper, outside of sighting in. Most of my shooting is offhand. I am done with getting in the prone position, unless somebody is invading the country, or a rodent is costing me money, I don't bother. I really don't like having the weight of a bipod hanging off the front of the gun on the off chance that I will use it, but if I take it off and need it I'm kinda screwed if I am out and about. I am thinking that one of the new bags that they use for prs shooting would be pretty fast to use in a pinch. Is there any in particular that I should be looking at? Thanks!

You might be on to it, some of those prs look pretty versatile. No personal experience to relate, but you might check out the "snipers hide" forum, lots of prs discussion there.

A lighter weight option would be shooting sticks like those from Bogpod or Primos. I have both & like them. Primos is simpler to adjust height, but the Bogpod is lighter (weights practically nothing) & much less expensive.
That said, they're either/or in regard to shooting position, at least the versions I have- both work great for kneeling and seated (either on the ground or a bucket/stool), but don't adjust high enough for standing work. Believe both are available in taller versions for standing, but don't know if they'll collapse enough for seated/kneeling work. Hoping someone with one of the taller models will chime in.

Currently my favorite bag is the Armageddon Gear sticky bag

What I use for guns that don't have a mount for a bipod is a homemade front rest with a Protektor leather bag on top. I have a rear bag of the same make and construction. I also still have a few old bags around my late wife sewed up from sections of the legs of old jeans. I sifted play sand to get the coarser material to put into the bags so they don't dust. Handy sometimes, even to just rest an elbow on.

Have you considered using a quick-release attachment, like an arca-swiss mount? You could have the bipod hanging off your belt, or in a backpack, rather than hanging off your gun. It takes little more time to attach the bipod than it does to pull out the gun.

I have two bipods, but I find I mostly shoot offhand, or resting the gun on a tree, when needed.

Most of my gun gear is all "just in case" rather than absolutely essential things that I need, day to day.
