I'm debating whether to replace my DonnyFL SUMO I have mounted on my FX Wildcat MK1 with either the RONIN or the EMPEROR. Any thoughts on whether the EMPEROR is overkill for a .25?

Can there be too much hush ?? If you are fine adding the length of the Emperor, I say go for it. It is a very good design.

I wanted to know this also. I have a sumo on a fx streamline and its quiet. I also have both a ronin and emperor to try it on my fx impact .25 and between the both of them the emperor is slightly quieter but almost 4 inches longer and it looks huge, if your a bench shooter having the emperor won't matter much but if you stand and shoot you can feel the difference in weight. For me, I like the looks of the emperor on the end of my impact.

I was going down the rabbit hole again! I believe the SUMO is the best choice for me. It has enough volume to solve my bark problem, yet it is almost half a pound lighter and 3.75" shorter than the EMPEROR. Jeesh, in the heat of the night, I can talk myself into anything!

I called him a couple weeks ago and asked him when I was vasillating between the Wildcat and the Impact. The mod works on either and I told him I didn't mind a little length for more quiet. I ended up getting a Shogun before I even ordered a gun.

I received a email from Donny about a question I had about a Ronin or Emperor for my 30 cal and basically what I was told if my 30 shoots over 900 FPS the best one for quieting it down would be the Emperor and if the FPS was under 900 to go with the Ronin or I could even try the Shogun for under 900 FPS, well my Bully is shooting around 991 - 995 so I’m going with the Emperor with adaptor.
I also have the Sumo on my Wildcat Patriot .25 and that’s pretty quiet, I think the Sumo and Shogun are the right fit for the .25 and yes I think the Emperor is overkill for a wildcat plus it’s 10” long but then again it’s not my money being spent here.

Well, Boomer; you really can't go wrong no matter which DonnyFL mod you get. Just get the model that best suits your particular situation. Aside from the fact that his mods actually reduce noise phenomenally, his designs do not physically alter the host gun, nor do they use epoxy. All the components are machine-threaded to be able to to be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

Wow, Imold; that is interesting. I was wondering whether fps played a part. My WC is @ 878 fps. I wanted a RONIN, but got a SUMO because the RONINs for the .25 were sold out at the time. I should have just waited a week or so, because the .25 RONINs are now in stock. Oh well, that's 4.8 ozs less to tote around!

Imold, well I have an EMPEROR on the way! DonnyFL made me an offer I couldn't refuse! (quiet as quiet can be). I'll have to order a longer backpack, but it's all good

Man,she looks great and handles like a dream! Nine and a quarter inches longer and 13.5 oz heavier than factory, but it's all good . Now to re-Chrony, re-zero, and resume terrorizing the wildlife down here on the border!
