For those of us not shooting 80 to 100 ft lb in 22 caliber hopefully this will be a new option for still shooting slugs accurately. I have been watching the slug Market growing and I had an idea that it would become the new normal. A lot of us are shooting 22 caliber at under 50 ft lb so I designed a new slug barrel a few months ago and just got my mandrel delivered to TJ. These barrels are a 3 groove to help lower friction and slug distortion. They have a 212 bore with 217 groove diameter. It is a 1-18 twist designed for 18-26gr slugs and calculates out to about a 1.5 gyroscopic stability factor for optimal flight. I designed and own the mandrel so it won't be listed on any of TJs barrel sheets but I plan to carry both blanks and finished drop in barrels in my store for multiple different brands of guns. I'll update everyone on testing results and you'll see a few results from a couple of trusted members here on the forum too so that the results are verified not just by me. In a nut shell these will be hammerforged chrome moly barrels with no choke and can be purchased at any desired length. Stay tuned!
