Double checking that I’m filling my rifle correctly

I filled my gauntlet with a hand pump for the first time and pumped until the needle on the pump gauge read 3000psi and I checked the gauge on the rifle which also read at 3000 but the gauge is green up until the 5k mark on the rifle. Did I stop correctly and have it filled right? The rating is for 3k psi it’s just throwing me off that the gauge goes all the way to 5k while still being in the green

Yes most small gauges are only a reference but a 2,000psi difference is HUGE no matter the guage. It might be a good idea to check at least one of them (fill unit preferred) .

Sounds to me like both the gauge on the pump and gauge on the gun where both in agreement at 3000psi.
OP was simply questioning if he should go higher just because the gun gauge is capable of higher pressure.

Indeed read it wrong. Thank you.
And "hangtown" is correct.
On a side note, at least just the line with a deadhead installed my chepo hand pump will hit 5,000psi.
