Hey guys let me help with some rumor control... and please free to ask your questions publicly, that way we can all benefit!
The Dreamline & Streamline share the same valving and air reservoir. This means that one shouldn't get any more shots than the other when set up the same. It also means that one shouldn't be more or less powerful than the other. That being said, the new Dreamline does take advantage of FX's more robust AMP (adjustable match precision) regulator, meaning it may have the potential to make more power. FX USA is going to set these .22's up pretty hot... around 30 fpe. If you don't like what you receive, efficiency and power can be easily fine tuned by the end user to compensate for elevation & temperature. My guess is ya can get about 60 good shots at around 30 fpe (in the summertime). I could be wrong but I think that's gonna be pretty much it for finding a good balance between power and efficiency. When ya get close to ideal, efficiency comes up quite a bit by simply backing off a few fpe. When it's colder outside as it is now, expect less performance.
The Dreamline is not meant to replace the more expensive Wildcat, Impact, and Crown. Those guns are engineered with the capacity to move more air than the Streamline/Dreamline so will always be able to make more power, that's why they're more expensive. The Impact is by far the most adjustable gun in the FX line. Then the Crown, then the Dream Pup/Dream Lite. The Wildcat mk2 can make more power than the Dreamline due to its larger valving but has less adjustability when compared to the previously mentioned.
My time with the Dreamline so far has me here;
It's very light, very powerful, very slender, very efficient and is a bit top heavy on the bags (if you shoot the new high capacity magazine it comes with). If you want a lower center of gravity, no problem... it will accept the smaller original Streamline magazines. It's modular, meaning that you can purchase the Dream Classic and if down the road you decide you want a bullpup, you can buy a "conversion kit" for presumably less money than you can buy a whole new Dream Pup. There are 5 versions available right now. All have externally adjustable AMP regulators (which is a big deal) that can be adjusted up or down without having to empty the tank first (also a big deal). They all have adjustable internal hammer spring tension and some sort of power wheel, but they do not all share the same level of adjustability. For example the Dream Lite and Dream Pup have additional external adjustment knobs for fine tuning whereas the Dream Classic just has one external adjustment knob. All Dreamlines use FX's smooth new twist X interchangeable barrel system which for the Dreamline comes in .177 .22 .25 and in a few months .30 cal. The barrels themselves can all be swapped throughout the lineup and can even be swapped with the Crown, Impact, and Wildcat... but you'll need the appropriate shroud/probe "kits" to make the systems work with their respective guns.
In a nutshell, the new Dreamline offers a huge amount of performance, adjustability, and versatility for the price point. It's a concept in freedom & flexibility and will likely make a superb field gun... but it may not be your buddy on the bag. Big power combined with ultra light weight and a narrow stock are not always your friend in the moment there.
Hope this helps and if I'm wrong about any of the above, please forgive me... I'm still learning myself.
