Tuning Dreamline Trigger

Any tips for getting the pull weight on a Dreamline Classic down to about 8 ounces?

I’ve adjusted to about 14.5 ounces. If I go below that, it creeps.

I can't tell from the drawing whether the Dreamline will accept the Boss match trigger. I installed one in my Royale, and the release is around 6 ounces. But, the Royale is the same platform as the Boss, so it might not work in the Dreamline. A call to FX in NC should resolve that question. Otherwise, all I can suggest is to polish the contact surfaces of the trigger wheel and sear.

It helps if you polish and/or grease the sheer. Ultimately I simply got rid of the first stage and mine is at probably 10oz, I probably will dial it back up a bit since it’s my backyard gun.


Boss trigger won’t fit a Dreamline, I probably will get one for my crown but I kinda like how my crowns as they are but they are single stage also, just my preference for now.

Adjusting it as a single stage often allows a lighter release weight. But, remember one thing about this odd trigger design. The trigger roll provides the first stage travel, before coming to rest with only the very edge of the trigger roll contacting the sear. At this point, it is ready to release with only the second stage pressure applied. So, there is very little safety margin at this point in the trigger movement, and it should be tested rather aggressively for accidental discharge. I would not be comfortable carrying the rifle in this mode, as in a hunting environment. Full disclosure, I have messed with triggers a lot over the last 50+ years, had some good results and miserable failures. I don't trust any trigger safety system, and only carry my air rifles decocked. Adjusting out all the first stage travel in this trigger calls for caution.

Yes, very good points. Like you said as the trigger weight get lighter accidental discharge happens but that’s why I don’t go down to 4 oz and my first stage is feeling the trigger. I find taking up the first stage annoying and waste of concentration. I had more accidental discharge with 2 stage setup and basically non with single stage, that being said it’s my pereference and everyone is different.
