T3PRanchA Freedom 10 at 10CFH with 125psi recommended input will take at least 8 to 10 hours from empty I would imagine.

What!? That is insane! Who wants to listen to two compressors running for that long!?

T3PRanchThe option is a self contained compressor ... about $ 3K for a Daystate Compressor. 75 cu/ft in 25 minutes according to AOA

A compressor that reaches 4500 psi is not just a couple of cylinders that move up and down. As evidenced by the mrodair chinese compressor, cheaping out on the materials and workmanship will result in a compressor that is unreliable and won't make pressure without constant maintenance (if it ever does at all!). I have a Daystate (Coltri) compressor and it is WELL worth the $3k I spent. Also, JMHO (and others opinion as well), that diablo air filter is not an effective or safe filter."kmd1984"I see...
Still, from what I can tell, there is nothing inside a compressor that justifies the price. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it just a few cylinders that move up and down!?
I disagree. I know what machining cost. Anyhow, this is not the right place to discuss this... : )"chiro972b"

"zebra"I pay $10 to get my 2 scba tanks filled to 4500 psi at a local firefighter supply store and they last me a while. It put me off buying my own compressor when I saw how quickly they filled the tanks (seconds). The store is 5 minutes drive. I can be there and back far quicker than filling with some of the cheaper home compressors.

Even though I'm just getting started I completely agree. I just bought a " Great White " and as long as you have a place close to fill it is minutes why buy a compressor.
This is my setup.. Some may say it's a bit over kill but it's dry. At least dry enough for me."fsa46"Where do you get your " dry air " from and what to they charge you to top it foo ?
