i know that graphite is used as a dry lubricant so i rolled a clean patch around on some powdered graphite until it’s black. then pull that patch through a clean barrel. repeat a few times and one clean patch before i shoot. my theory is that the graphite would act as a dry lubricant for the bore and also patch up and smoothen imperfections in the rifling. i’m also imagining that dust and other particulates would not cling to dry lube as much as wet lubes.
so far, no negative changes to POI but i’ll find out after some time. fingers crossed

i have been experimenting with HBN as a dry lubricant ..i like the results so far
Although i am really not seeing a big difference in the fouling of the barrel using JTS pellets, I am seeing an improvement in accuracy
only been testing it for a few weeks, but looking positive.
Note ..i have read that HBN is hydrophylic-attracts water-so i keep it in an air tight container
i will wipe off the excess powder left on the pellets. It is a micro coating, so more isn't necessarily better

There is another type of graphite dry film called Neolube 2 that was recommended by some F-class shooters..haven;t tried this one extensively.
Hope your experiments work out
Mike

Good old fashioned moly powder works great. Dope up some paste wax with moly powder and wax up a a clean barrel.

You can tumble your projectiles in moly/wax too.

It's like Graphite in many ways. I think it's supposed to be slicker and lasts longer under high pressures.

Use the wax with graphite. It puts a nice even coat and makes the powder stick to the metal much better than dry dusting.

the reason i went with the powdered graphite was to avoid any kind of liquid that would allow particulates to stick to it. still no POI changes.

i did forget to include that i also slugged the barrel before the graphite treatment and after. it’s definitely “slicker” after getting the graphite treatment.
i’m experimenting with the notos platform since it’s an easier barrel to take off vs a huben k1.
im also going to assume that any barrel that doesn’t have the smoothest rifling might benefit from this.
