Durable backpack gun.

I don’t have the mini but I do have an Evol 30. They are rugged for sure. I’d always recommend a AAA product if someone is looking for a no nonsense, powerful and durable hunter.
I don’t have a Vixen but have been pretty interested in them as a pellet shooter…. Don’t know that they are known for slug shooting platforms but I may be wrong. I was going to buy a Vixen then got hung up on wanting to buy another uragan… then they announced the U2 was coming out and I decided to just wait and buy that…. And now our new baby is due any day now and I’ve sidelined my big purchases for the time being.
A nicely built airgun that won’t fit into a backpack but I would certainly not hesitate to take into the woods would be the Uragan. At about half the price of the AAA’s they have a pretty darn good build quality themselves.
A good low powered cheap alternative (less than $300) is the Umarex Notos. Lightweight, compact, super quiet and it seems to be very reasonable in build quality and while it won’t be a slug shooter or a long range hunter it certainly does not make a nuisance of itself if you are packing it in the woods. About 20fpe max is what you are looking at with it.

There is no gun that meets all your criteria. If you’re looking for a packpackable gun that is rugged, high shot count, shoots slugs, long range. It just doesn’t exist.
sacrifice one or more of those, and there are options. The leshiy 2 meets all demands except for long distance. an Evol 30 will fit all your needs except backpackable. The vixen will not shoot slugs, it’s just not powerful enough. The evol mini is also not powerful enough.

A rugged, beat around in the woods, slug shooting hard hitting, long shots, good shot count. What’s y’all opinions? Leshy? Evol mini? Vixen? Any and all brands welcome! Let’s debate!
All those features in a “back pack able“ package? You will have to compromise or get a huge backpack... Good luck! My small, practical back packer PCP? My Atomic XR, mine is 27-1/8” long with stock fully retracted and 30” at full length. Mine weighs 6.75 lbs. The Ranger XR with the folding stock gets even shorter. Not a slug, long range shooter or a powerhouse. Mine is doing about 17 FPE at the muzzle, all the small critters its killed would argue, if they could, that it is a hard hitting PCP out to at least 60 yards.

To get powerhouse levels you gotta have barrel length and/or high pressure. Just how it works. Best if gotten is my puncher breaker pup that's just under 27" and doing 60 shots at 35 fpe with hades 22s. Could be an inch shorter if I got a flat cap on the shroud vs the threaded one. It's fully baffled and has an air stripper.

Here's the issue. It's a PITA to cock because it's rear cocking AND has a dual stiff spring in it. I can shoot it just fine, but its not anything like factory. I also cut the stock down, put on a shorter barrel and ported it all out. It's shorter, quieter, better power and shot count than how they come new. Stacking hades at 40 yards so far.

It also STILL weighs 9lbs with the scope and bipod and really wouldnt be a backpack kind of gun due to the scope height. All bullpups are gunna get you in that department.

Family first no doubt! Hmmm.. others are hyped over the notos as well but time will tell how it preforms!

Yes sacrificing barrel length definitely means sacrificing range. Evol with a foldable stock might work. @Long_Gun_Dallas recommends the Leshiy for pellets. You think it preforms well with slugs?

Ahhh yes just watched @Crosman999 put one through the wringer definitely can take a beating! What pellets are you using at those velocities? How about your shot string? Share with us your beautiful piece of tool’s performance! 60 yards I consider long range in wooded cover. Bet you can stretch it out to 100 if you felt like it! Absolutely a contender you’ve got in your hands!
