Eaglevision barrel tuner

I won a Eaglevision harmonic barrel tuner at the EBR banquet. Thanks to Eaglevision. The unit is very well finished, and I think it is going to do some good on my .25 Air Ranger.

No instructions were included in the kit and the “contact us” option on Eaglevision’s web site does not work. So, I have a few questions: Are there instructions that go with the tuner? Where do the set screws included in the kit go? Is there a proper sequence for installing the tuner? Is there an adaptor to attach a moderator to the front of the tuner? How would I contact Eaglevision (at least to say thank you)?

I have shot a series of groups, and the tuner seems to be doing its stuff, but I'd like to see some documentation before I go ahead.

Thanks. The Viking Airgunner, above, and Air Ability are the only two I could find. Both are good on how to use the tuner, but what is lacking. Up North Airgunner has a good video on how to attach the Eaglevision muzzle brake that helped. I think that a product of this subtilty needs an instruction manual.

BTW, a lot of internet air gunners should watch Air Ability. I think they would learn a lot about how to present a subject.

Long story short, I would like to contact Eaglevision.

Hi Ron,
I just got one of these from Krale a few days ago and I'm trying to figure out a few things out myself, but maybe I can help with a couple of your questions.

  • Are there instructions that go with the tuner? None came with mine and their "contact us" doesn't work either like you said.
  • Where do the set screws included in the kit go? First, you pick one of the 4 "end adapters" from the kit that will screw on the end of your barrel or onto the end of your moderator adapter. I used the 1/2 UNF X 20. Screw that "end adapter" in snugly to the end of the tuner with all the numbers etched on it. Then, hold the black part (by the number end) and unscrew CCW the silver or black knurled knob a bunch of turns and about 1/2" up there will be 4 empty threaded holes. It appears to me the 4 set screws go in there to lock down the "end adapter" so it's solidly fixed in the tuner when you screw it onto your barrel or unscrew it from your barrel. ?? If that isn't it, someone please let me know, but they fit perfectly. Here's a picture:

  • Is there a proper sequence for installing the tuner?
    • I "believe" you install the proper "end adapter" to screw on your barrel.
    • Then you either install the proper flat "end cap" for the caliber barrel you're installing it on, or, you use the "moderator adaptor" for the caliber barrel you're installing it on. Here's pictures of both those items. The weird little pins are supposed to fit through the drilled holes to assist in tightening the end pieces on. At least on mine.....it would be nice if the pins were actually the right size to fit thru the holes.

The guy from the YouTube Air Ability site has a video that may be helpful also:

Hope this was of some help to you......

Hi SAZ

Instructions? Nope, "Contact us" Nope. For such a well-made product, customer relations is batting zero.

Air Ability Has become one of my favorite channels. Well thought out and good delivery.

I don't think I should take it upon myself to describe the proper installation sequence, because I just put the thing together and then figured out how I should have done it.

If you screw the adjustment collar several turns forward of the adjustment marks, you will find the holes for the set screws. The slender pins can be used to tighten the main body on to the black adaptor. The big pins are to tighten the caliber adaptor on the front end of the unit.

The front-end adaptor come in two kinds. one has a male thread to attach a moderator. The other kind doesn't. I have the second kind, but Eagle Vision sells a package of adaptors in four calibers for 25 Pounds.

I wonder if the barrel tuner could be used to measure the wavelength of the barrel vibration.
