My R7 has 2 plain (untapped) holes near the end of the receiver. A 15/64" (~.234 diameter) drill bit is a slightly loose fit, and a 1/4" (~.250) won't enter.

Where can I get a stop pin to keep my cheapo dovetail mount red dot from walking backwards? Will a short 1/4" roll pin work?

Most airgun related scope rings have a pin already.
If your rings do not, remove the rear ring and drill the proper size hole in the lower ring.
Tap it f you want to but that is not needed.
Put the lower ring back on your rifle.
Put something (a stick will do) in the hole you have drilled into one of the holes on your rifle.
Trim the stick to make room for the scope.
Put the scope back on.
The scope will not move.
