Ebay air gun rules...wacky and inconsistent

I was able to purchase airguns until May 2019 on Ebay, but now they blocked it. I am in Virginia in 223XX Zip code and the only local jurisdiction that has airgun ban is Falls Church, VA: https://www.pyramydair.com/shipping-restrictions I was not able to find anything about local or state ban even if something came out during 2019.

I was on the phone for over 30 minutes with Ebay'sr rules/policy/safety (whatever) guy from probably the Philippines (based on the accent) who could not cite me one single federal, state or local law/regulation for VA. He retreated to citing California as their place of incorporation and that they must abide by the CA laws. Which is BS because if that's the case they should ban all air gun sales nationwide. If they go by California rules I would have to throw out half of my household goods, my food, sell my car, and tear down my condo walls because they contain carcinogens or other prohibited BS California deems dangerous.

So what's the real story here folks?

E-Barn is like FacistBook, Gaagle, YouTub and others ...... They do whatever they please with no compunction for right, wrong or the American way upon which their businesses were founded. They only care for what their agenda and political beliefs support! They have all grown too powerful while we were complacent in our homes. Freedom is always an ongoing fight that has been ignored for far too long and will ultimately be lost because of the selling of ideas to the youth of today which are completely foreign to those that this Country was built upon such as Truth, Justice, fear (respect) for the ONE Creator of all things and Individual Sacrifice for these ideals.

That is crazy!

I live in California and there are no restrictions on air guns here.......no idea what that guy was talking about.

As is the case now, support or customer service is in another country and they are clueless........

As far as I know the only thing you can't get here thru the mail is a sling shot, which was news to me and of course firearms. Pyramide air sent me a Aspen no problems.

It depends on state and city. I can buy guns from airgun depot and prymaid air. But trying to buy air gun from Wal Mart to ship to my Mart Mart store or even my house. It says can not be ship to my area due to federal law/state law. Some state/city define airgun as firearm. Just buy from a different sources. Not hard is it?

I can buy airguns in my Walmart store. Is there a local or state ban in your area? There is none in my area. So why should I go out of my way and pretend that I need to circumvent rules that do not exist? And would I need to pay more from other sources for Schimel and Crosman 600's which are not sold in stores?

I live in MASSACHUSETTS. No state laws regulating air guns at all. However, my city does. So my thinking is that if municipalities have a ban then it is easier to blanket the state to avoid lawsuits.

hope this helps,

Mitch

This may very well be the reason, except that there are no local bans in my area. Pyramyd Air lists only one city in the State of Virginia with an airgun ban. I know Pyramyd Air is not an authority on airgun bans, but they do have a vested interest in not violating the law while also have a vested interest to make money since aigun sale is their primary income. Ebay also has a vested interest in not violating the law, and much less of a vested interest to make money in airgun sales. Even as Ebay cannot link or cite one single ban for Virginia, you may be correct that Ebay from ignorance or lack of real research may have decided to blanket the entire state of VA.

Two words anti gun. They ooze it. I had two accounts on feeBay both with top rated seller status. One was a commercial account, but due to to changes to their policies, pricing structure, escalating fees, return policies etc. it became almost impossible to turn a profit. So I quit that. I know personally several sellers that quit, but they could care less. For every one that quits there a ten noobs to take their place.

The other account I sold personal stuff, flea-market finds etc. this is where I kept getting in trouble with them for selling airgun, firearm and especially AR related items. I eventually ended up on probation for listing two AR tools. They have or had a ban on listing AR attachments. I argued a tool is not an attachment or an accessory, to no avail. I told them where to stick it.

But from experience I think what happens their system puts up red flags using key words like AR, gun, firearms, and apparently airguns. Once something is flagged you can talk till you are blue in the face, they are not going to be swayed, because the rules are what they say they are. Instead of allowing sellers to put up a disclaimer ( see Shipping Restrictions on PA) they are so anti gun they ban the sale of these items. In my opinion illegally. They are controlling interstate commerce of legal products.

Hit the nail on the head! I also argued with the poor foreigner guy Ebay employed about "interstate commerce" and treating Ebay members equally as far as access to interstate commerce where no legal ban exists. But I am sure it went way over his head. I did make him take down every point in his conversation log with me and asked him to send it up the chain to his U.S. handlers. including their Ebay general counsel. At the end of the conversation I was convinced that nothing will happen... Welcome to Canada and the European Union nanny-state creeping into our land of the free and home of the brave!

",,,,there are no statutory bars to the lawful purchase or possession of air guns in Virginia. And it is good that Virginia has not attempted such controls because it turns out that states are preempted by federal law from banning the sale of air guns, at least to adults. 15 USC § 5001(g)(ii) states that:

(g) Preemption of State or local laws or ordinances; exceptions

… no State shall—

(ii) prohibit the sale (other than prohibiting the sale to minors) of traditional B–B, paint ball, or pellet-firing air guns that expel a projectile through the force of air pressure.

This brings up a good point. Localities may, under both federal and state law, impose restrictions on the sale of air guns to minors but may not impose such restrictions on adults."

Much more concerning is the fact that Ebay is a bastion of Gun-Hating, Liberal A$$hole$. And that's an understatement. One of the DNC's darlings. I never do business with Ebay, GayPal and the like. If they Hate Firearms and the entire Bill of Rights, do Not support them! Do whatever you're able to expose them and convince others to spread the word. This is the one battle we cannot afford to lose!

Edited as I received a "-1" for using a mildly profane word. Wow, that Sux! Not sure if the modification above will suffice but I'll attempt to tread more cautiously so as not to offend those more Politically Correct than myself. I've never been accused of Not speaking my mind regardless of the consequences...

Paypal is awesome 👍👍👍👍👍

I have bought and sold tons of airgun related items with Paypal. It's super easy.

Have you ever used Paypal?

Matt

Matt:

Used PayPal, once, a long time ago before I became aware of their affiliation with a specific doctrine becoming more pervasive in our society... Thought they were neutral and discovered they are actually proud of their Anti-Firearm policies. I own a Ton of Firearms and only two airguns. I care little for airguns and immensely for my precious Firearms and Rights. I will Never, again, utilize any type of payment that processes through PayPal or similar company for these reasons. There are many methods we may choose in which to pay; I will go out of my way and at extra expense, if need be, in order to Not support those who trample upon our Constitution. Just my particular stance and I respect the fact you do Not share my beliefs in this matter. So, hopefully, I have neither profaned nor delved too profoundly into politics nor committed some other error (such as being insensitive) that might earn me another "-1" to my Accuracy score from an anonymous Moderator.
