The 177 was pretty tough... I expected better. Was giving me sub .5" pretty consistently at 50. Maybe try again after lunch. Both were straight from the tin.

I made it back to the range today and took the advice that CC shared with me and put the .30 barrel back in my Impact. The rifle shot pretty consistent using the 44s straight from the tin. However so don’t consider it a success because there was little to no wind to deal with. My targets ranged from 216 to a high of 232. Now of I can replicate similar numbers in the wind I will be one happy camper.

Mike, you changed the rules to attempt to make the challenge more like the actual competition. A good idea I would say.

If you want this to be as real and comparable as possible to the actual competition...you should plug.

You can shoot a 225 that will plug a 225...and you can shoot a 225 that will plug a 235. There is a potentially massive difference in the outcome. I actually had a 230 card that plugged a 243.

You would then have parity among the different calibers...which is the purpose of the plug anyway.

Plugs are not expensive items...and they should be a part of every competitors tool box.

Just my opinion of course.

Mike
