The wind was CRAZY in the 100Y main event finals! I had a 6 and two 7s on my card and still finished 3rd with a 216. How the winner Jeffrey Hernandez shot a 229 I’ll never know. Simply amazing shooting and the highest score ever shot in an EBR final. Hats off to his shooting skill! He beat the 2nd place Nicolay Boldov by 4 points… Also congrats to Nicolay. That’s 3 years in a row he has finished 1st or 2nd in Pro division.

Also, congrats to both Tony and Barb Pellegrino. After both had a so so score in the first 75 yard qualifier, they knew they had to go balls out Saturday morning in the second 75 yard qualifier.
And they brought the heat Saturday morning, both shooting 234 and leapfrogging over ten shooters that were above them to qualify for the 100Y finals!!! Hats off to the True Grit displayed by both of them on Saturday morning.

And as for me, even if I had not made a few errors that resulted in a 6 and two 7s, and they had been 9s I still would have finished 3rd. It just wasn’t meant to be.

With only a few exceptions, every previous EBR or RMAC winner and top five finisher over the past 5 years was at EBR competing! There was more talent at this match than any previous 100Y BR match in Airgun history…. I’m cool with 3rd, but you’re right, I wanted to win…

My .25 Daystate Red Wolf HP was FLAWLESS! With no wind at 100 yards it can put ten shots under a quarter - consistently. I shot .25 King Heavy JSB at 950 fps, and used a Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60x scope and Accutac bipod. My gun was PERFECT. I practiced twice a week four hours a day all Summer. The only things lacking were wind reading skill and patience. But I know what I need to work on, and as Arnold said, “I’ll be back”

Mike, You are a true team Captain and Coach! I was so upset with my performance on day one, yet you always had encouraging words!! You said MANY times to never give up, day 2 can change everything.... I did not believe you.... You took the time to talk about wind, you explained wind flags, you loaned me yours and cheered me on. You made all the difference and I TRULY believe the outcome would not have been the same without your support! THANK YOU!!
