EDgun Edgun Leishy 9mm worth the $$$?

So with my recent purchase of an acreage and a ridiculous amount of rabbits inhabiting the place it has me wanting a new pcp. While I love my epic two 550mm rifle, it was purchased and setup for long range paper target killing and is quite cumbersome to walk my property with and eliminate rabbits. The Leishy 9mm checks all the boxes and although .35 is a bit excessive for pesting its still what I’m leaning towards. I’d like like to hear feedback from other owners as to reliability, likes and dislikes with regard to the high price tag, has it been worth it for you? Thanks

I had one but sold it due to the excess power but if you have land I’d say get one and try it. You won’t lose much selling. All Edguns are reliable as long as you follow certain rules like making sure the pellets are seated, all the important bolts are snug….. the 9 is a blast to shoot. I still own smaller caliber L2s .30-.177.

I see in your profile that you're in Nebraska. If you've got the same giant jack rabbits we had in Colorado I think the 9mm would be a blast to nail them with. I've not hunted with mine yet but I bet it would work very for taking them out humanely at 100yd or less. The .35/9mm is pricey to feed compared to .25 however, if you want to feel every shot, the 81g pellets will do that for you! Mine shoots Hades very well and is mildly tuned to fling them at 680-690fps. That works well in my short range environment. I went with the REPR regulator rather than the Raptor and 450mm barrel when ordered from Edgun West. No issues at all so far after approximately 500rnds.

For your stated purposes, I would highly recommend the Leshiy 2 . . . but in 0.25 or 0.30 caliber. You don't need a 9mm for rabbits as 0.25 is already plenty and 0.30 is already probably overkill. I've had the L2 in pretty much all of the calibers and unless you need 9mm for bigger game, you'll find that the 9mm is not efficient when it comes to air consumption. Even if you change the caliber to a smaller size down the road, the larger plenum wastes more air than is necessary for the smaller calibers.

Get a 0.25 or 0.30 with a 470cc bottle and you'll have more than enough shots per fill that you won't likely need to refill on any single outing.

For rabbits I'd stick with the Leshiy 2 in .22. I have a .30 cal configuration for my Leshiy 2, but I never use it as I don't have any targets that would benefit. .22 is so much more affordable. Keep in mind the Leshiy 2 is semi-automatic so you're going to want to pull the trigger often.

Maybe if you're shooting at targets that are often 100-150 yards away I could imagine wanting to go up to .25 slugs, but if your rabbits are under 100 yards away, .22 is going to be fine.

I hunt raccoons, squirrels and rabbits with my Leshiy 2, in .22. But my targets are usually under 40 yards away.

I don't have a Leishy but I'm shooting a Vulcan 3 30 cal with 54gn slugs @ 976 fps and that's pretty overkill just for rabbits.....357 would be fun to say the least lol.
I am looking now for a .357 for larger game like Javelina and deer, minimum caliber for that here in AZ is .357 so definitely if you're thinking of larger stuff down the road .357 might be needed. The body shot is @ 60 yds and the head shot @ 50 if i remember.

I'm relatively new to this stuff so grain of salt and all... but... here's my 2 cents.

I've found big bores to be noticeablely less accurate. I don't know why, but none of my big bores (2x 357s and a 51) are as accurate as my .25 avengex. Not counting pellets... I don't really use them so can't comment... slugs only. All of these rifles (including avengex) have very nice custom barrels and I have spent a LOT of time and tried a LOT of different ammo and tunes.

If you're over the moon about 357 check out the rattler. I compared the two and it was an obvious choice IMO.
