Hi Guys,
Let me clear some things up... Brian does not pay me, nor does Ed. I have paid for every EDgun I own with the exception of the Leshiy 2. Actually, Brian gave my daughters the pink Leshiy classic too. Why? well what you don't know is what I do for a living. Brian was thrown off his old website platform, and I got his website up and running on a platform I was part of building. I did all this work in a weekend, and then continued to help guide him and his small business. I've helped 1000's of small businesses.
Now, lets bring in "EDgun Leshiy". I learn by doing, not by some book. I approached Ed and Brian and offered to build "EDgun Leshiy". My motivation was partially what Ed described above, and also I needed a project to build something real out on this platform to test features and functionality. That website gets 2K visitors a week, is organically on the number 1 page in Google for the keywords I want, and has a free membership area called Club Leshiy with over 10K people in it. It's all fed using a YouTube Channel with 60K+ subs, and more importantly 2-3 million watch minutes a month. I wanted to build a community around this gun I loved, and one I felt had a coordinated attack against it. I won't even get into all that, as I won. I made people look beyond what Ted did, and realize what this gun really is and did... it changed the airgun world forever... and the Leshiy 2 did it again.
I did all that with Zero $ from Ed or Brian. I benefit plenty from outside sources at this point, but I never did this for the $$.
I've been very open about what I have paid for and what I have not. Even with that I think it's inappropriate for me to call a video a "review" as I'm clearly promoting him/them, but don't try and come in here and question my integrity. The truth is you're all just as fed up as I was with this paid youtuber nonsense... I just had the tools to put an end to it.
There is nothing wrong with paying someone to showoff your product, but you have to be upfront and honest. Why are you seeing "paid promotion" in some of my recent videos? Well, watch them, and I think it's pretty clear. I literally stop the video and do a 1-2min showcase of a product and thank them for sponsoring the video. The last one was Tactacam. The ones previous were Olight, EagleVision, ATN Corp, US Optics, etc etc. YouTube requires you to check a box claiming you received $ (or in my case product) in exchange for promotion. I choose to only do this with stuff I like and use. You don't see me doing hard sells... I just entertain you guys and let the footage help you make up your own mind on the products I use.
You guys have no idea how much time and money goes into these channels making content for you to consume for free. Being a YouTuber for a living would be the most stressful job ever. I hope for and congratulate their success. I even feature many of them on the channel to help them grow. The issue I take is trashing a product when you're on the payroll of a competitor... and not being up front about it. This is happening a ton in the firearm space, and you're seeing it bubble up. This influencer thing is really gross. It's why you're getting this response from me here... accusing me of quietly getting paid by Brian and Ed is not something I will tolerate. I'll tell you when someone gives me a product or pays me... always have, always will.
The weird thing I've learned in all of this... you guys have a hard-on for EDgun. It’s like you want them to fail sometimes. Why? Why not hold all these other companies and actual paid shooters accountable like you do EDgun?? It’s bizarre.
So… with all that as context, let’s talk about this last video which has some panties in a bunch. I warned you all that the Leshiy 2 was a no tinker kinda gun. It was perfect out of the box. The trouble you’re seeing is people tinkering. I know we all love to tinker, but I cannot state this enough… DO NOT MESS with this gun. Brian and Ed knew this would happen though… the thirst to tinker was just too strong. So they gave you the power jets and the ultimate never ending math equation. Stay within the swim lane they suggest on total hole size, and you’ll be fine… but if you feel you’re smarter than Ed, and want to do something else… don’t get mad and claim the gun can’t shoot anymore.
My yard is 30 yards, not my capability. The video itself is not a review… it’s literally scope cam footage showing what the gun is capable of in the hands of someone who knows how to shoot. It’s a bone stock 250mm .30 shooting 50gr JSB’s at 720fps. Basically a pistol hitting can after can at 150 yards with a 6x scope. Brian could pick a barrel out of pule of them, and you guys would still bitch. Was this a f u to Gregor… you bet it was. That video was garbage, just like Ted’s (just minus 400K subs). He 100% messed that gun up, and didn’t say what he did. The chronograph numbers prove it. The video literally has 2K views in a week. We're doing exactly what he wanted... giving him attention. Trashing a gun for views doesn't give you credibility guys.
Here’s what I can promise… you guys are going to lose an incredible asset to this forum in Ed and Brian. Keep it up, and you’ll see.
