EDgun Leshiy 2 - An Engineering Masterpiece

The Russian website shows the original leshiy for 57.5k rubles, which would be 868 dollars. The first one sold for 1400 so the Russian price was marked up by 61% roughly. Assuming this markup stays the same (which I suspect would be the case), the 79k which is 1192 would roughly put it at a us price tag of roughly 1920.

I bet that's pretty close. Probably $1,900-2,000 would be a safe guess but you never know. I'm keeping my original Leshiy regardless so we'll have to see if I want to fork over the dollars. Looks like it will be epic that's for sure.

Thank you JadedC 😁

Yeah it will be interesting to see the cost for this new model. I can't see the value exceeding the Lelya personally. The current Leshiy is $1395, which was hard for many to chew on, and L2 doesn't quite cater to the same demographic. I think it's geared more towards the SK-19 crowd in function, but the weight and power will determine where it lands among the competition.

If the cost is >=$2K, I don't think they'll be flying off of shelves. For a cost that high, I would expect sub-MOA groups with a slug compatible barrel, and the integrated moderator would have to be astonishingly quiet.

@mtnghost considering the r&d and revolutionary outcome of having such a small semiauto gun I def could see it being more than the leyla, and more comparable to the matador. I think a good portion (maybe half or even more) of the original leshiy owners want the new one, plus gathering the interest of the sk19 crowd would make it a highly desirable item even with such a hefty price tag.

At anywhere near 2k, I’ll probably go Impact. It is a more stable, mature, platform having been around longer, very customizable, and reliable as a lever gun. Anyone who has not owned a Steyr, Huben, or SK-19 may not be aware of how many things can go wrong with a semi automatic. The Impact can do it all, from a barn gun to slugs at 100’s of yards and is relatively reliable. If you think a leak in an Impact is bad, wait until you see what it can do to the cycling of a semi automatic.

Not just the cost, the weight and adjustability. If the weight is say 5.5#, it’s close to the Impact at 6.3 which is more versatile. As an SK-19 owner I can tell you it is nowhere near as versatile as the Impact. It is not recommended for the end user to adjust the regulator only the power wheel and there is not that much adjustment. One video said you can get the gun down to 650fps with the power wheel, but I do not find that to be the case, and they tell you if you shoot with it too low (how low is too low) your gun will require factory repair. If the gun in the Anubis spoof video that shows him using the cocking lever was the gun, it would have been likely cheaper, lighter, more reliable and salable. The semi auto feature could prove to be the EDMU of the Leshiy 2-more costly, difficult to repair, and un-needed/unwanted.

If the trigger is decent (2-stage), I'm sure I'll buy one. I'll pass if the trigger is the same as the Leshiy 1.

So far in the vids posted, I'm having trouble seeing if the trigger is 1 or 2 stage. It sometimes seems like 2 stage, but I think the shooter is just taking up a lot of slack before firing.

No one is talking about the trigger which lends me to believe it is the same awful 1 stage unit. 😪

What I'm wondering and noticed is that the Leshiy 2 is seen with an analog gauge/manometer and not the EDMU. I wonder if Ed has decided to stick with a more reliable pressure gauge. The single stage trigger on the Leshiy 1 doesn't bother me. After owning and shooting a lot of powder burners with horrible triggers, I can get by. It goes without saying that I do enjoy a good trigger though.

And the Leshiy 2 will be the same, a close range hunter one shot one kill. So what’s the point of the Leshiy 2? If it’s a close range hunter one shot one kill (which it is) who needs the Leshiy 2, especially if it’s heavier, more complex, with the same trigger, and near 2k? The devil is in the details, and the details are slow in being provided. It would have been better to have all this stuff ready to roll out instead of spoofing us with a quite different gun.

Interesting guesses as to the price. The R5M lists for $1895. This is new, semi auto, good concept, in high demand. I’m gonna say $2195. Just a guess. Then there are all the options. Larger pressure bottle to replace lower tube, different barrel calibers and lengths, etc. It’ll be like the Impact where you start at $2100 and end up at $3000 by the time you walk out the door...

There’s also this version.
