EDgun Edgun Leshiy 2

Appreciate the update. I’m currently using a 3d printed shroud and I am ready for upgrade. Rather get the behemoth than go the Valkyrie route since the behemoth has quick detach. I’ll be patient and wait.
Could always go huma quick detach. Much cheaper, and can be used on any exhausting 1/2-20 unf moderator

Anyone thought of designs for a higher capacity magazine for these? With all these guys thinking up designs for other guns (which were already higher capacity in the beginning), im surprised nobody has come up with anything for the L2. Honesty, it’s my only gripe with the gun. 8 rounds goes quick when hunting squirrels this time of year. I go through 2-3 magazines fairly quickly on a good day. The bottle helps with less fills, but even with extra mags on hand, there’s still more down time.

you get 16 to 24 squirrels Fairly quickly ? WOW

You must have some pretty dumb squirrels in your area if any stick around after 8 rounds are fired at them? I use the EDgun speed loader and it is plenty quick, at least quick enough while I find where the varmints scurried off to.
squirrels are pretty dumb. The white oak trees are like crack to them this time of year, and my permission has plenty.
I’ve tried speed loaders, and honesty, I can load them faster by hand. That’s not my question though is it? If speed loaders were the answer to everyone, nobody would be making high capacity magazines would they?

Agreed that the 8 shot is severly “limiting”, but I don’t agree with the “handloading is faster” comment. To be sure: you want to keep the mag IN the action while speedloading, AND…

To speed things up MASSIVELY when using .22 caliber, (this is like having the MB party mode in F1, back in the day “Lewis it’s hammer time!” ;) ) you will need to use a black magazine cover sized in .25. With this in place you can simply leave it reatained ON the magazine, just put the speedloader against it and drop the pellets THROUGH the black magazine cover... (The only “setback” is that the pellets will fall out if you choose to keep the stock folded and rise the barrel above horizontal, but who walks around like that (with a folded stock…) while stalking anyway?)

In the time it will take for you to remove the magazine, open the tin, grab a hand full of pellets, put back the excess amount of pellets, load your magazine, put the cover back on, attach the magazine to the L2, put the lid back on the pellet tin, secure your pellet tin, I can load at least two magazines and be ready to fire.

That’s awesome, but my way is much cheaper. Lol

All things aside, my question wasn’t for speed loaders, or how fast something can be done. I’m hoping someone in this enormous thread, that is talented with engineering, has some idea on how to make a high capacity mag for these rifles. I literally take it with me everywhere, and it’s my go to for everything just based on its ease of stowing, and the fact you can keep it loaded yet perfectly safe and ready to go.

i think a chain type belt could work, with larger hollow pins drilled out for the pellet.
replace the magazine with a gear to keep the chain in place.

I'm thinking more like a large wheel type mag as in the Huben/LCS19. This basically looks like a big ballbearing, meaning it is hollow in the middle, but then with teeth (gears) on the inside that correspond to a smaller wheel with teeth on the outside. The smaller wheel is centered with a pin in the regular place of the L2. The teeth of both gears are connected in the 6 oclock position, and there probably need to be 2 more pins at the 10 and 2 oclock position to keep the 2 gears in the same position. So the big wheel with the pellets is actually off center, as it's center is above the regular pin hole for the normal magazine.

So now when this magazine is inserted in the L2 it sticks out a little higher and a little more to both sides, but if you limit to say 12-16 rounds it won't be too bad.

You can dream about larger mag as long you wish, you implement more moving pieces and more can break or missbehave. But you forget about that the indexing mechanism is powered by the same air volume as the valve dwell.
Don't drive yourself far and crazy, if you worried to reload - get the speedloader.
I even prepared=remachined my four barrels for single load. :)
