EDgun Edgun Leshiy 2

Clipping with Moderator installed:

I was wonder about clipping. Have any of you guys had clipping issues with your Moderator set up and your Leshiy 2??? As an effort to reduce the sound level of my 350mm .25 Cal I put on an Donny FL Sumo using his adapter kits and I now have a clipping issue. I messed with the install for about 45 minutes and nothing i could do would leave the monderator sitting where it did not clip the Sumo. Which made me wonder how many other have had this issue. I literally could shake out lead shavings from the Sumo.

To purchase this from EdGun Spain would cost £444.49 + Postage.

Selling for £250, which includes Royalmail 1st class postage, with tracking.

UK Mainland only.

Definitely not the place to post for sale. I would place this add in Member Classified area. Good luck on your sale.

Are you still using the factory grip on your L2?

I don't think my hands are any larger than average but I do seem to like larger grips. It's clear the stock L2 grip is too small and probably too angled for me.

Curious what you're using?

By the way if your Classic comes with the stock grip and you don't like it try adding a 3d printed extension first. @towle has a file on AGN.

One of my Classics as the stock grip + extension and a rubber pistol grip sleeve. It's not too bad. I think ideally I'd have something between the Gen1 and Gen2 Stephen Brown grips. Can't bring myself to sand my Gen1 down.
I picked up a couple early M16/AR15 pistol grips without the beaver tail at a flea market and put one of those grips on my L2. Works great so far.

Question about speed loaders. Are they any larger in diameter than the magazines? How much if so?

I just mounted a Stryka 1-6x24 which has a pretty bulky eye piece compared to many other scopes. I also like my scopes mounted low & would prefer to not raise it just for a speed loader.

I did a low scope version to fit the combination of Hawke Airmax 2-7x32 AMX/Hawke high mount, but it won't work with the scope that far back

Ads 2mm to the mag

@towle is there anyway to measure how far forward a scope needs to be for that loader to work? I think I have the 2mm clearance already.

I've had a heck of a time getting scopes far enough forward. My Leshiy2 is recent with REPR. It has the ~115mm upper tube which I believe is the shortest. I think going to a shorter plenum is not possible with the REPR.

I wouldn't mind getting the length of pull similar to my Leshiy Classics & that would help with the scope position some. But I'd buy new rings first.

They're all bigger than the magazine -- all the ones I've seen are designed to "seat" the magazine inside them.

The ones made by Edgun maybe have the least amount of extra material and should fit with your low scope. I think all the 3d printed ones I've seen would be pretty borderline.

You guys not gettin crick in the neck from those low mounted scopes? :)

If I'm getting a crick in my neck it's from having to crane forward to get proper eye relief. I've tried higher scope positions and if anything it seems to take my eyes further away from the scope. And I just have a harder time getting my eye centered with the higher positions.

@Scouty why not the d10v24? It’s a great fit and we can be matchies. :D

All the rings I had laying around were too low for the Leshiy2. I do need to order some new ones or find a mount. March has a smaller eye piece than the Styrka but the tab on the throw lever was making it difficult to slide the March back for proper eye relief.

Also, I can't remember what we discussed in our PM but I bought that scope in part to see how my uncommon vestibular/vision issues would work with a high end scope like that. If anything the premium glass and touchy depth of field have made things worse for me instead of better. The Styrka has an extremely forgiving depth of field and that seems to work better with my vision issues.

I have an appointment with a surgeon at John Hopkins in mid November so I'm reluctant to spend money on my shooting hobby until I get a better idea of what my future holds. Of course I just dropped $90 yesterday for an STO insert and I could get a decent set of rings for that.

It depends… On both the speedloader and on how low you have the scope mounted. One of my speedlaoders requires me to come in at a bit of an angle to fit it under the scope. the other one I have in .25 cal doesn’t. And a third simply would not fit under my scope. I got rid of that one, since like you, I don’t want to raise my scope any higher.

Were these all 3D printed ones? Which one has the smallest diameter?

No problem, with the current low scope edition - 17 mm back from the breech is max

..but clearance on the current version between mag and scope turned out to be 2.8 mm, not 2.0

L2 speedloader low scope edition 2,8mm OD clearance.JPG

but if you really need a ultra low version I can model that, it will require moving the index pins inside the pellet holes, and reduce the OD of the top disc so it will clear the scope

L2 speedloader ultra low scope 1.JPG

L2 speedloader ultra low scope 2.JPG

this will allow a ultra low scope mount, mag OD 36 mm, top disc OD 39 mm, clearance between edge off mag and scope 1.5 mm - and no restrictions on how far back you mount the scope

will have to print and test before posting

Only one of them was a 3D printed version, and that fit with the angled approach I suggested. The one that didn’t fit I purchased on eBay from a guy in the UK. The one that works perfectly I got from Jeffman of Sub12 Airgunners in the UK. Also, I did buy one from Martin on this forum and it worked, but I don’t have the gun set up for that caliber anymore. I’m away from home so don’t know the diameters offhand and can’t measure them right now. I’ll double check when I get back home.

@towle thank you for that.

I think my next step is to experiment with a simple cheek riser before going to a custom print for a speed loader.

Just curious, but what is the plenum and air tube arrangement on the L2 with the 2-7 Hawke?

I mocked up a 2-7x32 Vantage on my L2 and there is no way I could use it with 17mm overhang. I would need much more than that.

This is with the REPR plenum and shortest air tube.

This brings up a question I hadn't thought of. Do the speed loaders increase in diameter with caliber?

I had assumed they do not since the L2 indexing mechanism is made for all calibers?
