EDgun Edgun Leshiy 2

Hi again all, I seem to have achieved a pretty consistent 815-825 feet per second (820 mostly with occasional jump or dip) with 2 x 0.2mm jets I'd say the reg is maybe 2 or 3 full turns from Max - no idea what the actual reg pressure is but I'm pretty sure its below 200 as I was still getting consistent speed at below 200 - maybe 190bar in the tank - it would seem I could go smaller on the jets and get the reg pressure even lower, maybe a 0.2 and a 0.1? And try get the reg even lower? I mean surely the less reg pressure to achieve your speed the better right? Or am I missing something?

I have been using the APEX regulator for 8 shooting sessions. I got it since my E.A.R keept creeping.

Well the new APEX havent creeped yet... But consistency is a laugh. At 130bar, 1.0 x 1.2 jets its consistency on 8 shoots with 5sec between each shot is 877-923FPS :ROFLMAO:

I'm a little confused by this. You're saying it does not creep, but it takes more than 5 seconds to get the plenum up to pressure? How long does it take?

The regulator does not creep.
It cycles fast - around 1-2seconds. But the consistency is very bad on my APEX.
The 5 seconds sessions is just to confirm the consistency so regulator has the same time between shots.
Is the same consistency no matter how I shoot it
I think what is confusing with what you are saying is that it’s hard to tell what ‘consistency’ you are referring to. Regulator consistency or velocity consistency. You claim there is no creep which indicates the regulator is consistent in pressure output. If the regulator is indeed putting out consistent pressure, it is doing it’s job and your velocity issues are related to something else.

Do you have a regulator gauge?

Dave

Thats a good consistency. I must have gotten a bad APEX
I shoot .177 slugs 13-16grain, barrel alpha 600mm. Also shoot 250mm LW barrel with 8-13grains pellets. Same problem
So I dont get tights groups!

I´ve been struugling waaaaay to long with that Leshiy 2. For me its a crappy pcp rifle. If I knew what I know now I would never have bought it. I do not recommend anyone who asks me to buy that rifle. Way too expensive compared to how "unstable" it is.

Its the FPS consistency - the big change in FPS with same bar on the regulator.
Yes - I do have an extra meazy on the regulator side (which also ia a laugh on the APEX since the install of it cant be static like the E.A.R. Its also a very poor and dangerous solution since the gauge can be taken out while having full pressure on the rifle). And yes I do know my way around the L2 ;)

I´m warning everyone about what they can expect if they buy a Leshiy 2 :) I´ve only had problems since day 1 - I´ve been repairing and fixing problems more than i ´ve ben shooting. I hoped the APEX would change most of it but it hasn´t. For me its a pcp still in development - and a rifle that owners need to fix them self continuously. Edgun should state that so ppl know what to expect.

I would be lying if I said I hadn't had problems with mine, but its a 2020 model I bought 2nd hand, who knows how well or badly the previous owner treated it, and a lot of my problems were my own fault when atripping and changing parts and being heavy handed/ clumsy - but I have it running really nice now, and I'm pretty sure I could still get things better with time and patience, the parts are very expensive but its a very precisely engineered bit of kit with all custom parts, it must be slot to produce, anyway, I don't really know my point I'm making, I guess I am happy with my L2 despite going through quite a lot of issues and problems with it and learning a lot, IMHO there is a lot of complex high pressure tiny moving parts and so many upgradeable / interchangeable parts, I guess its inevitable that some people will have issues and some will have a great experience, and like me, some will have both!

If it helps I have fou and that smaller jets, allowing lower reg pressure gives me the best consistency and performance, and turning it back a little below the theoretical Max power for the given jet combo in use, currently I have the 350mm 30 cal unchoked LW poly barrel (expensive) 0.2 jets x2 - will prob swap one out for a 0.1 next time she's empty and I'm throwing 44.75 hades into a 1inch group at 50 metres with 820fps at the muzzle - no gauge on the reg but at a guess its probable at 170/180 currently........

MIne is a .177 / 600 Alpha barrel
With 1.0 jets and 16g slugs I get over 1000FPS (and thats with the dogbone and collar installed). So I think getting below 1.0 jets will give to much air when slug leave barrel.
I havent tried below 1.0 jets. I have all jets in sets from 0.1 - 2.0 so I might try out a 0.8 set to see what happens

My mission is to shoot 1 magazine / 8 shots at 25yards with no flyers and or to make a 8 shoot group under 1cm. That mission is not completed yet with 4x magasines and 2x barrel :ROFLMAO:
My Steyr Pro X have done +1000 shots with no flyers. Its pellet on pellet - out of the box

Yes - patience is the key word :)

Yeah I'd try going down on the reg pressure to be aiming for somewhere in the 850/900 fls range, 1000 fps seems a little fast for consistency and also accuracy, yes change jets to smaller sizes also, I'm sure you will get better results that way

First and most important thing is - the speed kills the accuracy no matter what caliber or barrel length.
I can't speak about tunes for .177 with a dog bone and definitely raising eyebrow when you saying "consistency is a laugh. At 130bar, 1.0 x 1.2 jets".
I am shooting rings only with my L2, most of the time 50 Meters and occasionally for fun 20-100 silhouettes - in a regulated gun club only.
My setup is .22x500, 74 bars on REPR, 2x0.8 jets, 15gn Hades or Baracuda's making a single ragged hole @ 50 Meters 8 shot groups, current speed today is 760 fps. This speed is purposely set to low because I can do friendly backyard protection as well. Otherwise for target shooting I would chose a speed about 860-880 just by raising the Reg about to 90.
I would assume that at your set high Reg + dog bone + jets + speed , all these combination makes your Forward Plug doing some weird performance. But again the .177 I can't talk about.

The +1000 was only to state that power is enough with the jets.
I´m fully aware of speed range on different pellets/slugs. I´m not a newbie in pcp shooting

I think a lot of people (like me) have no problems at all. So likely the issue is the state of tune of your gun. What is your setup?

.177 - EDgun recommend 2x 1.2 jets and dogbone + collar.
I shoot the K.O slug from 700-1000FPS everytime I make a change in jets.
Best result with the K.O 13.43 no matter jet (1.0-1.3) /bar (120-145) is in the 900-930FPS range. H&N slug 13g is best at this setup around 950-960FPS. This was with the E.A.R which had a FPS consistency at + - 8 FPS. Its impossible to do any serious shooting with the APEX which right now gives me + - 23 FPS
I cant remember the speed on the Zans

And alot of ppl have problems :) ts wellknown - there are too many ppl having problems. The fact that so many things has changed since the release tells it all. The list of faults you have to check for a single misfire tells it all.
Its an ongoing VERY expensive project. The buyer pays the price for a unfinished product. In this price range and how they promote the Leshiy - there should not be any problems no matter "what model (read newest upgrades from factory)" you have.

My setup... Well I have changed, upgraded and been fixing parts so many times to try to get it to shoot so it can do a group under 1cm at 25yards :ROFLMAO: I know its not a bench rifle. My other rifles all do 5 shots groups hole in hole at 25yards when setup right. I´ve never owned a rifle that couldnt do that. But maybe ill reach the goal if I buy more stuff from EDGun ;)

Ill list the stuff here. Some has been send back due to warranty claim

Standard Leshiy 2 250mm .177
- 350ccm bottle
- Alpha barrel 600mm x 2
- Behemoth 3-7 chamber
- Reflex and trilug kits
- 6x magazine / 2x slug 4x pellet
- Huma regulator (on the last E.A.R)
- Huma metal body

I stiil need some testing to get that group under 1cm. I hope to get that APEX working so FPS consistency is + - 8. Right now the APEX is the probklem.

BTW show me your groups at 25 / 50 yards. I havent seen a small tight group without a flyer or two yet

Maybe this indicates the problem. You aren't saying what your setup is. For example, do you have the dog bone and collar installed? Your number of magazines doesn't really say much.

I'm not a target person, I pretty much only hunt/pest with my Leshiy 2. But I occasionally play target games with my son. The little bell target has something like a 1cm opening and at approx 30yd or 30m I hit the bell consistently, only using a red dot or iron sights, with little effort, i.e. I can do it with less than a second between shots and basically mag-dump on target. That might be my only target games, other than sighting-in aiming devices.

I don't see people struggling with the Leshiy 2 like you are. Maybe point out these threads? My impression is it's mostly happy owners going about their business.

I've got 3 L2's. A .22 250mm, a .30 350mm and .35 450mm. The .35 is the only brand new L2 I've purchased. Everything else is used built with used parts. The only one I've had to "fix" so far was the .30. It has a Raptor regulator and was shooting unregulated according to the gauges. The nozzle O-ring was blown. I replaced it like I've replaced O-rings on my other rifles and it was fixed. Nothing crazy. I've popped many a squirrel with the .22 at 10-25 yd using both a green dot and a Veyron. That's accurate enough. They're not perfect but they sure are fun! I hope you get yours sorted, MSG1979. 1st pic is the .22 after 3 mags at 35yd.
