Edgun Leshiy Scope options...? + Akula

I'm currently running a Vector veyron 3-12x44 SFP,

I'm finding the ret is very thin, I have lost it a few times in the wood, also when shooting at night.

Can anyone recommend me a suitable scope for the leshiy classic please?

Also my other question would be, is the Akula 50mm worth buying, does it make much difference to the report? I want to keep my Leshiy compact and the small Akula seems to fit my needs, any thoughts?

I don’t have any scope recommendations. I run a leupold 3-9 efr. I like it, it’s super lightweight so it keeps the package light. The only thing I don’t like is the reticle doesn’t have any mil dots or reference marks. I don’t shoot it past 50 yards and with the tune I’m running I don’t get much drop so it isn’t a huge deal.
As for whether you should get the longer akula I would say go for it. Honestly the difference in length is minimal. After putting the longer one on I don’t notice any difference in handling. However it does do a decent job quieting it down. It’s not comparable to running a moderator but for the compactness I don’t think there is anything at it’s size that could compete. With that said it isn’t dead silent so I don’t know how good the smaller version would be.

If illumination and FFP is a consideration then look at the Discovery HD version of your scope.

Optisan CP 3-12x32 has favorable comments on its performance in darker conditions. Read below.

I've had trouble with finding scopes for the Leshiy. They either sit too high or interfere with the shroud. Or they have to hang off the back to get proper eye relief.

Burris Timberline 4.5-14x32 has none of these fitment issues but isn't the close range scope I need right now. But it will probably be on it this summer. I have the FFP version of your Tac Vector and my best guess is that the Burris has a thicker reticle than what you're currently using.

I have an Akula and it better than anything else I've tried but I haven't compared it to something like the Eagle Vision or DonnyFL adapters with moderator.

I believe the owner of the company who makes them doesn't recommend the full length Akula for 12 FPE, if that's the power level you're using. So that would keep your Leshiy more compact.

Where are you guys buying Akula’s at? I can’t find them anywhere.....

I ordered mine direct from the company this past summer. I think the entire process took just shy of three months with no updates on tracking for much of that time.

I started to consider a PayPal claim and then stumbled across some AGN posts that suggested they wouldn't cover any sort of "silencer" even if for an airgun so I held off. Then the package just showed up one day.

And more recently I think there has been some discussion about difficult of getting airgun moderators shipped from overseas and/or being confiscated by customs. None of this talk was specifically about the Akula, however.

I'll see if I can dig up some of those threads and send you the links.

I would also recommend watching the classifieds closely and be prepared to pounce. Give some thought to buying another Leshiy if it comes with one and selling it separately.

Here is one link. I've seen this topic come up a few times recently. Again, none of this specifically applies to the Akula which is not the typical screw on moderator. It might be worth emailing them and seeing if they can still export to the USA. I think the guy's name is Dimitri and I found him easy to communicate with in English. If you need the link or email address let me know. I can't find it at the moment.

Thanks for the info. When I try to google the company nothing comes up. Can you give me a link or a name? I appreciate it. Apologize for the hi jack

The email I used was [email protected] and I included something like [Attention Dmitry Akula moderator].

He replied with a price list in US dollars and I then used PayPal to send the money.

I believe there are three different lengths, 0, 20 and 50mm and three different calibers. 20mm inserts were not available when I made my order.

If you don't mind let me know what he says about shipping to the US.
