Edgun Matador R5M Eye Candy - pics inside

Kilba

The laminate was kind of serendipitous moment. EDgun had a bad batch of walnut that was not suitable for gun stocks. Ed knew I had wanted laminates for the R5M so he offered them to me. The feedback has been so positive that he has decided to offer laminate stocks permanently as an option. In the near future I will be ordering laminate stocks and I will carry them as a stand alone item.

I don't have a price yet.

That's great news because I see an Edgun being added to my collection in the near future.

Hello, beautiful Edgun R5M, could you tell me how much you weigh without a SCOPE?

Thanks for your help.

6.75 lbs without scope

Hello, thank you very much for answering me. I like to shoot standing up and weight is very important to me. Weight you carbine or got this data from the internet. A greeting.

I just received the R5M .25 from Brian @ EdgunWest and the gun is superb in both looks and accuracy.

Gun is topped off with Vortex rings and the new Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50 FFP scope.

It's dialed in at 900 fps using 25.4g pellets and right now easily putting up sub half inch groups at 60 yards, which is as far as I can shoot in my back yard.

Here they are together: The R5M and R5, both in standard length

Olá amigos. Quantas fotos nesta configuração? obrigado

Sorry, I know this post is over a month old but I have a question. Have you tried tuning your R5M Standard for JSB 34gr yet. Are you able to get at least 850 to 880 FPS with the factory EDgun regulator or the Huma regulator shooting the 34gr? I understand that the R5M Long is capable of this but I like the shorter package of the Standard model.

Which do you like better the R-5 or R-5M ?

Here are mine , a 22 leshiy with long 22 barrel with Huma reg and wood handle and trigger mod and I am running a 34 mm ffp burris xtr on it ,then my super 25 mag with 24 inch barrel with Huma reg single shot running a 5x20 SWFA 5x20 HD mil quad, and my 30 cal super long , with huma reg running a SWFA 5x20 HD mil quad , all 3 are back yard friendly and very accurate

I have not yet tuned it for the 34g JSB's yet. To do so and get the desired 850 to 880 fps, you'd need to increase the regulator pressure up from the baseline 120 bar up to say maybe 130 or 140 bar. You can do it with the included regulator or get a Huma regulator. Brian from EdgunWest told me that he has not had as good of a result shooting the 34g JSB's due to pellet inconsistencies causing accuracy issues.

That being said, I believe you can squeeze out more power out of the standard at the expense of air efficiency/consumption. I'd recommend you give Brian a call and find out those details.

I like the R5M better for everyday shooting due to it's side lever cocking. However, if I need to put down some bigger pests, I grab the 30 cal R5.

Thank you for responding. I guess I should probably look at the R5M Long to shoot the 34's or hopefully wait until they decide to release the .30 version again. Just looking at my options. Thanks again. I'll probably give Brian a call when I have the cash in hand.
