EDGUN R5 Magnum and Varmint Knocker Slugs

I’ve been using these Varmint Knocker slugs for a few months now, and I’ve got them shooting great in my .25 Edgun R5 magnum.

These are the 40 grain large hollow point and they shoot at about 870 FPS..

They are truly devastating and several times have turned the critters inside out.

This was a 35 yard shot...he fell out of the tree and crawled about 5 feet and expired..

How is the accuracy with those massive hollowpoints?

Nice shooting. Are these accurate at longer ranges. I thought you needed an unchoked barrel to shoot slugs properly. Doesn’t the R5M come with a choked barrel ?

Here is a 85 yard group with the 40 grain large hollow points from my Daystate Air Ranger .

and they do some real damage ,

This one lost his brain .

you can put your finger through that hole .

This group was 85 yards before I upped the power on the regulator..

Shoots at 1” at 100 yards if everything is perfect and consistently hits 22 rimfire gophers at 100 and 150 yards...

The R5 has a light choke on the barrel from what I understand.

That's a lot of damage...we don't have squirrels here but we have mongoose and I can't wait to try out the 32.80gr on them. Nice shooting.

I want to try some in my r5m long 25cal. But so far the 34grn jsb have been good.

Not sure if they use the same barrel or not but mine shoots the 34 grain mk2 jsb at 965-970 FPS..

WOW, they are devastating for sure & for varmints would be great. But not sure I would want to use them on Squirrels I was intending to consume. Thanks for posting info on these knockers.
