I just stumbled across this thread , OK I own all ed guns from r5m to lelya 2.0 in different calibers , and I can say I have never ever had an issue with blowing air in my face , and some of my guns put out up to 100fpe
I never had a jam that was not a slug too large for bore , I have had a few plastic mags break on me though .
to me it sounds like you using maybe too thin an oring to make air leak unless you have a transfer port oring leaking ? I had one oring leak 1 time it is rare .
I know edguns make durable solid guns , but any model made need tweaks .. THe edguns dont have any issues and are very easy to strip down and adjust ,
I would also like to add I also shoot other pcp guns such as , air arms , taipan FX, kaliber ,and a evol now , so on those guns mentioned with a lever base cocking action , some like my taipans can be cocked with my pinky and it is like butter ,
My point is , If I only shot a fx or taipan say they yes I would find a learning curve to get the R5M to be used efficient , It takes a bit of getting used to ,
I say this not for me now because I have hundreds of thousands of shots out of my guns , but when friends try them they some times are not used to say having a 1/1 cocking lever where you need to mustle it and it is normal for this but on a say flimsy platform like say a wild cat if you muscle the cocking lever you bent the cocking bar each gun is good but different , I bet this is what Brian meant
