Can somebody tell me the approximate speed I should be shooting with my R5m long with the 25.39 JSB pellets?

I have my R5M long shooting 25.39 @ 930 FPS. When it came from Brian (Edgun West) it was shooting 25.39 @ 900 FPS, I adjusted the HS to get to 930.

Edguns seem to perform quite well at faster velocities. My edgun .25 R3M long came to me new shooting 25.4 gr JSB's 946 fps and lazer accurate. 17 consecutive shots at 90 yards measured .75" ctc.
Let the gun tell you the preferred velocity. I would start low, lets 880 and increase hammer spring incrementally until you find the best shot groups and leave it at that. Then, if you choose to, balance the hammer to the regulator for greatest shot count and consistency.

My bad guys. Yes the gun is a .25 cal. Thanks for the good info. Great place to start with this great gun.

I have seen my best results between 825 and 890 with these pellets from various EDguns. I shoot them at 855 which seems to be a great blend of accuracy and efficiency. You can shoot them hotter, but I think you will see there is not enough gain in trajectory to sacrifice the absolute stability.
