EDgun Stalker vs. SWFA 10X SF vs. Discovery VT3 3-12 Compact FFP Opinions Please

The time for a new optic is fast approaching so I am seeking opinions on the 3 mentioned. I am a big fan of the fixed 10 SWFA and have this optic on multiple hunting set-ups. The other two are very interesting on paper and in reviews. The chosen optic will top an EDgun Lelya 2.0 .25. Sole purpose is pesting. I have other guns for other sport.

I am leaning towards the EDgun Stalker for weight and compactness. It is also illuminated. Before spending 2 or 3X I thought I would reach out here for some opinions.

I have the 10x SWFA SS scope, just having had a chance to use it yesterday for the first time on a Daystate Wolverine R. It looks great but I noticed that the eye relief is a little unforgiving unless you're positioning your eye in the exact same place each time.

I have just bought the Discovery Optics Compact 3-12x44 FFP scope to place on my Taipan Mutant Shorty in 0.22 to keep that setup as compact/light as possible. I'll try and update on the way it looks once I get it, hopefully later this week.

I considered the Dedal Stalker, but it's presently out of stock and overpriced for what I use it for. I hunt primarily and I think the Discovery compact scope will fit the bill nicely at just 10in in overall length on a compact bullpup. Yes, you don't get the illuminated reticle, but I can't say I'd miss it for the price difference.

Do you go for rats at night?

If yes then I would go for the Discovery. (Reason being you can mount an add on ir nv setup. )

The other reasons are simular recitle as the swfa. Never owned a swfa but they look like the same...recitle.

I wanted a swfa ffp 3-15 but my budget and timing for the sale price didn’t align.

I also wanted a edgun r5m but again my budget and the taipan shorty has been on my buy list for over a year.

I went fot the discovery 3-12 for my taipan to keep things light and love ffp. The range limit doesn’t bother me as I use it for short range pest (rat).

Nothing bad to say about it other than the rear flip cap was too large to fit on the scope but I didn’t mention it as my setup does not use it.

It’s great to see Edgunwest carry the 3-12x discovery for the same price I bought mine overseas. I would prefer to support him. I was about to pop on another of his but found this one and wanted to stay small and light for the shorty theme, I have the tatsu as well.

It’s great I just hope it stands the test of time as I’m very content and want to get another. Just nothing to put it on, I had 3 donny’s before my taipan got here. My Prod looked funny with the .25 ronin.

I’m jealous of guys who have nice glass $$. I feel it is the nicest complement to a gun to spend the same amount or more on a scope but I’m kinda broke right now for hobbies so these discovery scopes have made me happy.

PS fixed power I get, I have fixed photo lenses and they are tops but these ffp scopes are just great and when up close 10x might be too much.

I would say around 5-6x you can see the mill dots good with the 3-12 discovery.

Also note, I bought some edgun pellets instead of the scope and unlike my order for jsb’s from another great reatailer they all had matching skirts.

I think it would be awesome for the leishy but I feel it would still stick out the back some when folded, mine is about 3” eye relief. I don’t want a leishy but now that Brain at Edgunwest has both you should just email him and ask. I’m sure he is testing it for the right rings and will add pictures if a comfortable combination works out. Maybe he will chime in here? The scope will be new to him but not the brand. I have only sighted mine in, a couple times, and used it (on taipan)...very happy.

PS I would like a leishy but value repeaters or magazines too much.
