Put a utg scope on my GAMO swarm got it zeroed at 20 yards but the elevation is maxed out should I shim the back scope ring. Or any other ideas to give me some adjustability back? Thanks

+1 Thumper is correct on bending your barrel upwards Which is no big deal.
Your other option is...If yours is a 30mm scope tube...

For best accuracy through longer ranges it's good to have the scope optically zeroed for the zero range you chose. So you may need to shim it. You can use Chairgun to select the optimal zero range for your distances.

I shimmed the scope on my 392 using two layers of milk jug plastic. I moved the point of impact from ~5" low at 15 feet to ~6" high at 20 yards. I guess I could have gotten away with just one layer *shrugs*

I originally was going to use a Pepsi can, but knowing my luck, I would have sliced my fingers up with the sharp metal, so I used the plastic jug, which isn't much thicker than the pop can. I really didn't know what I was doing and was taking a guess based on the recommendation of using pop cans as a shim. I DID NOT expect two thin pieces of plastic would move the POI that drastically.
When it comes to tinkering, I'm more of a "Tim the Toolman" rather than an "Al Borlan." (Tool-TIme reference) so I tend to mess things up rather than improve them...this time I had a rare streak of luck and things worked out well.

I would take out one layer of that shim and just wrap the other with electrical tape.

I thought about removing one of the plastic strips, but I've already got the rifle dead on at 20 yards. And (I THINK) the plastic might compress a bit when the rings are tightened down (finger tight) so it may not be as thick as I thought. Too, with my luck, if I mess with it again, I will screw something up LOL.

Thanks for the reply’s. Put 2 pieces of electrical tape under rear ring as a quick fix. Got it dialed back in a little better wile I wait for other mounts.
